It really does. Objectively, a lot of people thought it was good.

So pop music is the best kind of music?
Things don't really work that way.

However, usually when there's a meeting of commercial success, great user reviews and great critic reviews you can be sure that something is 'actually good'

Best was never mentioned. Good was the topic. Yes, the most popular songs are good to a lot of people.

The Gold Standard.

♥♥♥♥♥, you must be joking? the more you play the game the more you see how basic the ai is, how clunky everything is, and how many bugs and broken quests there are, oh and the combat is still a tedious forced minigame EVERY time, no fluidity to it at all, its clearly not built for anything other than a 1v1, i have had dead bandits standing up, trying to move around, even though they are dead and i am trying to loot them, hits that go through shields as if they are invisible, the combat is simple, but so boring and forced, its awkward.

The world building is decent and looks good, the story is ok, but everything else is either mediocre or buggy/broken and has been done so much better in other games.

If this is your Gold Standard, you just have very low standards.
I disagree with every single point you made.
so you disagree that the world looks good?:lunar2019grinningpig:

in my opinion KCD1 was much better. KDC2 is like an interactive movie, forcing you from cutscene to cutscene and from steathquests to stealthquest with a horrible AI, occasionally something like the open world feeling from the first part arises for some time.

I just recently played through KCD1 and I ran into more bugs there lol

what bugs in KCD 1? I didn't have any, not a single one that I can remember, except once my horse got stuck in a tree.
To be fair is was quite buggy in the beginning but warhorse did fix almost everything so to everyone concerned regarding kcd2, don´t worry the devs will fix most issues just give them a little bit of time

This game was an absolute winner after 120+ hrs and finishing the main story I am stoked that I purchased this game. The developer should be proud. This is how you make games.

i think you would get more out of it if you play it as an RP experience.
RP, the two letters from RPG.

Enjoy it, it's an experience rather then a rush to get somewhere..
This isn't an fps where you wanna reach the end game and get top score.. there is no score..just a story.

Experience the story.
It's like a book. literally.
Or a movie if you will.

But in first person , where you also get to be part of this movie.
And your choice matters.

I'm still not sure where these people are getting the interactive movie idea from. The main quest doesn't cancel the open world portion of the game. I mean the main q is more linear but you're not forced to do it in a single setting.

everyone is praising this game so hard...Its a good game but are we going to just ignore all of the quests where we just walk around and fetch items? I feel like the quest design was better in the first game. This game has a lot of red dead redemption 2 type stuff where i have to walk around and listen to characters talk. I only played the first one for 5 hours on pc but i have 500 hours on playstation in the first game, and i feel that most of people giving this game 10/10 probably didn't even play the first one.
I dare you to take a job, and think that you are going to be instantly sent on a bisiness trip to hawaii.

lots of fetch quests, and walking around sure, but it doesn't bother me as much as it would in other games because im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drowning in immersion most of the time and life in those times was probably just as lame some times.
