Last time I was this addicted to a game I was playing Elder Scrolls.

KCD2 is only a successor to its own franchise which stands on its own without compare. (No comparison is needed.)

Sadly thanks to other developers with bad predatory and anti-consumer practices, I'm going to end up waiting even longer to play this one.

(The community didn't help matters, but that's not really the reason anymore. I cannot set a standard only to set it aside for anyone, no matter how much I think someone's trustworthy.)

everyone is praising this game so hard...Its a good game but are we going to just ignore all of the quests where we just walk around and fetch items? I feel like the quest design was better in the first game. This game has a lot of red dead redemption 2 type stuff where i have to walk around and listen to characters talk. I only played the first one for 5 hours on pc but i have 500 hours on playstation in the first game, and i feel that most of people giving this game 10/10 probably didn't even play the first one.

I think you've just explained why I'm feeling a happy nostalgia in this game, despite being new to the franchise. My older siblings played Daggerfall 'properly', and I mostly just set up different outfits to either visit court or defend temples at night; when I played Ultima VII, I ran back and forth between the well and the baker's table to make loaves that I could sell for pennies.

I love that there is a lot of depth to this game, but that there is also pleasure in the small things.

Agreed so much. This is Daggerfall / Morrowind vibes all the way -- just with lots of QoL updates. :)

Skyrim was legit trash... and we all played it... I stopped after 60 hours at least :)

imo morrowind was bethesdas peak.
