Hasn't happened to me, but one down click versus two and it might be over.
Edit: mind you I didn't click new game. I specifically clicked CONTINUE
Luckily, I had System Protection / Restore enabled on Windows 11. The system only creates restore points once a day, so I still lost a few hours of progress, but at least I was able to recover most of my saves.
If you have System Protection enabled, try this:
1. Go to `C:\Users\[your system user name]\Saved Games`
2. Find the `kingdomcome2` folder
3. Right-click on it → Properties → Previous Versions
4. Select the most recent version available
This helped me restore my saves.
That said, I still think this is a really bad design choice. This didn't happen in the first game—starting a new game never deleted old saves. Like many others here, I accidentally clicked "New Game" while trying to save, and everything was wiped. It just doesn't make sense.
You are a life saver! Thank you
Or you could have just paid more attention, idk.

Trying to refund steam version, couldn't refund Ps5 version. But gave it 1 star review on Ps5.
