Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

İstatistiklere Bak:
KCD 2 deleted my game saves
I have 25h in this game, I was in Kuttenberg standing in the gate and tried to save the game by drinking Saviour Schnapps, but instead I saw the initial cutscene. No confirmation window popped up for me, and I'm sure I clicked the right option. I don't have any save files in the game folder. What can I do? I don't want to play 25h again with the same quests and grind.

It happens because we tend to breeze through saving a game without thinking about it. The New Game is next to the Save Game, and you don't have to press many buttons to end up deleting everything. It's a bit like a car crash. With tens of thousands of cars driving all around, it is impossible to avoid an accident here and there, especially when it's so easy to save or delete all your saves.
I never save by opening the menu, just because I never know which one of my schnapps it'll use. I manually drink them to not use the best one I might want to use later. So maybe it's easier to click on the new game than I think

Hasn't happened to me, but one down click versus two and it might be over.
It just happened to me as well... over 100 hours in the game and the save files are nowhere to be found. I checked the steam cloud but they aren't on there at all... I reached out to Warhorse support, but had anyone actually found a solution for this?

Edit: mind you I didn't click new game. I specifically clicked CONTINUE

I made a backup app for this, but unfortunately that only works if you have it beforehand. You can find a link to it in the comments.
WTF? this just happened to me. I guess i misclicked and it was new game instead of continue and asked me which path i was on and i clicked what was my last save and then i started over. 51 hours like wtf? Can't load anything. I just turned off cloud saves as I have another computer i play on and am hoping i just lose maybe 10 hours or so. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ morning experience. It will verify if i want to do a dumbass task but won't verify if i waant to erase all saves??????

It happened to me last night, over 140 hours down the drain. Two weeks of hardcore gaming, exp, swords, armor, and progress is all gone now. Like it never even happened. And there is no way to reverse it. Why the f**k is there a New Game option in the pause menu? This would've never happened if the New Game option wasn't in the pause menu.
I also lost all my saves, and none of the file recovery programs mentioned in this thread helped me. The recovered files just wouldn’t work, and the game crashed when I tried to load them.

Luckily, I had System Protection / Restore enabled on Windows 11. The system only creates restore points once a day, so I still lost a few hours of progress, but at least I was able to recover most of my saves.

If you have System Protection enabled, try this:
1. Go to `C:\Users\[your system user name]\Saved Games`
2. Find the `kingdomcome2` folder
3. Right-click on it → Properties → Previous Versions
4. Select the most recent version available

This helped me restore my saves.

That said, I still think this is a really bad design choice. This didn't happen in the first game—starting a new game never deleted old saves. Like many others here, I accidentally clicked "New Game" while trying to save, and everything was wiped. It just doesn't make sense.
I also couldn't find a solution to the issue, but I'm careful and I've kept my saves. Has the company found any solution to this problem?

Or you could have just paid more attention, idk.

Yeah, he should go back in time and pay more attention. Next time you make a mistake of some kind, you know what to do.

I have steam cloud disabled and saves gone, without pressing new game
I was hoping PC doesn't have this issue, lost my progress on PS5, last game I buy from these hacks.

Trying to refund steam version, couldn't refund Ps5 version. But gave it 1 star review on Ps5.
