KCD 2 deleted my game saves
I have 25h in this game, I was in Kuttenberg standing in the gate and tried to save the game by drinking Saviour Schnapps, but instead I saw the initial cutscene. No confirmation window popped up for me, and I'm sure I clicked the right option. I don't have any save files in the game folder. What can I do? I don't want to play 25h again with the same quests and grind.

Solution 1 (before this mishap occurs):

Simply go to the folder:
C:\users\"username"\saved games\kingdomcome2\saves
(create a link so you can access it quickly)
and regularly save the data in a separate folder.
You can also reduce the save files yourself by simply deleting them manually from the folder.

Solution 2 (after it's already too late):

Otherwise there is the Steam website:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

You may still find your old save games there and can download them. For example, I still have save games from February 8th there.

Then you don't need any other things like a self-written program or something like that.

Unfortunately, this bug clears both local and cloud archives at the same time, so when I came to my senses, I found that I only had one automatically saved archive left

For anyone who experiences the same thing and has not restarted their computer yet, I suggest you:
1. Do not restart your computer
2. Use Recuva to search for the game save folder, which should be located in C\User\u name\Saved Games\kingdomcome II\saves

In fact, at that time, I had the last chance. I successfully found the replaced archive file with data recovery software, but the computer suddenly crashed. After restarting, they disappeared forever ♥♥♥♥
What a new game wipes all saves without a confirmation dialogue?

It doesn't. Still don't know how people are managing to overwrite their playthroughs so easily

I used Recuva, and even though I was able to restore several save files, the game crashes at the end of the loading process or displays a "failed to load" message for every recovered save.

No answer from the support.
The only way is to start a new game or find a saved game shared by someone.
But there is some different game version. Saved game from the Pre order version is not compatble with the other.

I lost everything before the mariage :(

This just happened to me. I play this game on 2 PC's, and I accidentally clicked new game when I sat down to play on my HTPC, and it wiped out all my saves. JFC. Edit: I was able to restore files with Disk Driller, but game crashes trying to load saves.

100% no confirmation. What a joke.
So when I click on "New Game" I am asked at least which playthrough I want to choose.

I haven't tested any further of course and yes it would be nice if there was always a query for everything BUT it is not true that it is deleted immediately.

I might have done it from the pause menu, I can't remember 100%, but it's super disappointing.

If you click new game you can choose what slot u want for new game, if you overwrite your game its only your problem, there is 5 slots why would you choose your main save?

You got one job.
