This would have been way better as a vr game
Kingdom Come 2 would be an amazing VR game because it's already built for deep immersion, and VR would take that to the next level.
The melee combat system, with its directional attacks and parries, would feel way more natural using real hand movements instead of button presses.
Archery would be way more fun and skill-based in VR, actually making you aim instead of relying on a reticle.

Survival mechanics like eating, sleeping, and maintaining your gear would feel more interactive instead of just clicking through menus.
Walking through a realistic medieval world in VR would make exploration and quests feel way more personal and real.
KCD is all about realism, and VR would make everything feel more authentic.

I just imagine something like Blade & Sorcery or dungeon eternity but with a full open world like Kingdom Come, and I can’t help but sigh at what could have been.

Instead we have this janky combat that depends more on stats and exploits than skill.

Do you realize how lame VR combat is?

I would love VR support but I actually don't "need" motion controllers. I stil would be super fine with 6dof head tracking only and keep gamepad m/k. I wouldn't say no to such implementation but just having VR at all would be huge.

Maybe this time someone manage to get a VR mod for this working.

VR melee used to be lame, but games like Behemoth, Dungeons of Eternity, Hellsplit Arena, and Legendary Tales prove how great it can be when done right. With real weight, impact, and physics, combat feels visceral and skill-based, not just button mashing. Gone are the days of wiggle combat
Not gonna happen until someone comes up with at least glasses instead of VR helmets they sell now

Wait, you seriously think that AI, pre-animated attack motions, are going to be fun to go up against, when you are obviously given full freedom of motion? It's a pretty dull world.

It really depends on how the AI is designed. If enemies just stand there and take hits, yeah, that’d be boring. But games like Hellsplit Arena and Behemoth prove that AI can react, parry, and counter, making fights feel intense and skill-based. Full freedom of motion is only fun if the combat has weight, physics, and smart enemies to back it up.
Too much development cost for those few people who use VR.
