This game has far too few good fights
I really like the combat in this game. Why are there so few good fights? Am I missing something? I just got to Kuttenberg and there's way too little fighting happening.

When I'm wandering around all I've ever found were trios of bandits, two ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ones without any helmets and one decent one that still dies too fast. They don't even gang up on you anymore, so you can just backpedal and kill them one by one.

The main quest fights are disappointing. Half of them are avoided with an easy dialog check, the other half are big group fights that aren't fun. I've spend far more time doing forced stealth in the main quest than I've done fighting.

Same for sidequests too. I finished the storm and it sucked. I got into Kuttenberg and the first quest I saw, having to do with helping a guy's vineyard, is a stealth quest. I kept exploring and found a guy who says he's a german swordmaster. He challenges me to a duel and promises to teach me if I do well. He then makes me take off all my armor manually, loses in 2 swings, and the quest turns into another damned stealth quest.

If a quest isn't about stealth or running random errands, it turns into a fistfight. Does anyone even like fistfights? They're just worse version of weapons combat. I see that there are fist combos now, but can you even do them when the enemy perfect dodges every single attack of yours?

Should I even be wearing armor? Maybe if I just wear nothing but fancy clothes the fights will last a bit longer. And that way I won't have to take off all my armor again every time the game gives me another stealth mission.

Idk man my current playthrough I have literally maxed out all of Henry Stats and occasionally a challenge still crops up, but I also go looking for fights so that happens.

Also take your armor off? Have you not figured out the loadout system? You have 3 sets loadouts?
Ok here some random fights.

That's how it is for KCD in general, is how 'challenging' should it be? Should more bandits poison their weapons in general? Wouldn't be fun to get hit by a bane poison while midfight and not having antidotes ready.

You come across plenty of fights when you're just roaming about. I'm frequently running across bandits on the road & there's a lot of side missions that will get you fighting. To be honest there are a number of fights throughout the main story, but if you just got to Kuttenberg I understand the series of missions you've just gone through & yeah there's not much fighting for a while during those.

Perhaps by KCD3 we might see wider scope of conflicts with actual military units roaming the countryside invading actual outposts and whatnot, and taking over each other in a faction war. Hussite Wars as a mercenary in a sandbox game would be interesting, especially if it's a separate gamemode than the 'story' one. Even more fun is if they can make co-op work so group fights can be a thing.

Few good fights?

****SPOILER ALERT****

I decided to do a complete 180" on my hero of everyone campaign play-through when I flawlessly completed every task at the wedding to find out that no, I will not get to talk to Lord Bergov - I am to be arrested - and then told to CARRY SACKS AGAIN? At the crack of dawn - I'm confused, I lost my horse and all my things - I'm pretty choked at this point.

It was in that moment I set out to destroy ALL of that castle - It started out with a simple "Sneak up and execute" - which allowed my to get my first weapon - then through numerous failed attempts - before I could get the armor on, engaged - and killed - I managed to finally - FINALLY in one play-through make it ALL the way to Lord Thomas - and at this point, I've killed EVERYONE - Had the most epic battles - epic stealth kill moments - Stole ALL OF THE LOOT in the ENTIRE castle - EVEN from Otto's personal quarters (KING DICE?!) - then thought - there's no way the story is going to progress here after everything I've done.. right?

WRONG - Oh my god, it has turned the ENTIRE game around for me and spiced it up - I no longer can trauntz around in the spotlight with my previous gear set - I've had to make use of the PRIEST'S CLOTHES (one of the guys I slayed on my mission) - Now I'm playing like this 00 Agent Henry - I resold a lot of the crap I got back to THEIR OWN BLACKSMITH - all of my skills are upwards of 23-25 and climbed so fast - I was given a BETTER horse - the Guards are constantly on the look out for me - but can't spot me.. Hell, all the villages are still 60's in rep - and other cities guards are 50-60 too - thanks to being like 100 when I did this..

I'm so stoked for the shift in the game I was playing and honestly, I wouldn't have experienced this had I not to just say F' it - I'm done playing nice.

I had probably 15-20+ incredible battles, some vs 2-3 people - with NO WAY TO SAVE - It was a FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE situation - salvaging EVERY little thing I had along the way to make it work - and the BELL tolling in the background, counting down EACH moment I have left... It dawned on me when I got to lord Thomas that I was on "ring number 9" and I needed to rush over and make the fever potion - if I didn't do this on time, I would lose EVERYTHING I found, all the lock boxes I managed to COMBO UNLOCK to keep my ONE PICK (passive) - That was one HELL of a shaky alchemy potion to make.

What a ride..

I just can't believe I did it in 1 play through (after my first 2-3 failed attempts at snowballing) - It's been a long time since I felt that sort of thrill in a video game.

I look forward to what comes next..

Huh.. I must have missed the loadout tutorial. That does make things way more convenient.

KCD1 was different. Bandits generally were harder to kill and more dangerous, and well armored opponents took a while to die if you didn't aim your sword well. A group of peasants in ambush were deadly. In KCD2 not so much.

Yes but imagine if most of them carried deadly poison, or use other mechanics such as feints?

This is why I don't like hardcore mode of KCD1, it's too cheap and doesn't expand on the game much by reusing existing mechanics that the player can do.

This type of posts are pointless, you have your opinion, which most of us think is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and you are sticking with it.. surprise surprise.

Every post here is pointless. It's a video game forum. It's like 90% peoples opinions. People come here to chat, not be productive.

And yeah I'm sticking with it. You showed me those three videos, but if I add those three fights together and combine them with all the combat I've done so far, it would still be less time than the stealth quests I've done. I want way more of that, and so far I'm not getting it is what i'm saying.

Yeah I didn't play hardcore in 1 for those reasons. The chance of dying on the menu screen made it seem like it's purposely made to be unfair. I'd be happy with enemies that could parry consistently. In 1 I had trouble pulling off combos because the enemy kept masterstriking me. In 2 I have trouble doing it because they just get hit and die before the combo is over.
