Can't talk to villager in Nebakov

I can't talk to the villager who tells me he wants to collect deadwood in Nebakov. I follow him and say I'll hear him out, but then he just stands there.

Reload your save and try again. Make sure you're doing it during daytime, not at night.

Bugged out, so many other bugs might as well move on unless you get lucky and it fixes itself.

I had saved the game just before i talked to him. Same thing happened to me. I reloaded the game and walked about 20 feet behind him without getting to close and was able to finish the quest. Spoiler: He just tells you some info about fortress until a soldier approaches you.
