Dragon's Lair Quest Bugged?
No matter what I do, the quest fails even after the 50th attempt and all possible combinations.

The location where the bones are found is always empty, but normally they should be found if you do everything right and fast enough, where you are facing the alchemist and arrive before him. I have tried everything to do the quest as quickly as possible, I have watched video guides and done everything exactly the same and also everything as quickly as possible because of an alleged time limit, but no matter what I do, the location is always empty. I even killed the alchemist and his bodyguards the first time I met them and even when they were dead they got there faster than me. The mission must be bugged.

Spoke to the Abbot in the late evening, reached the priest that was kind late and decided to talk to him in the morning. Bones were not there anymore. Reloaded a previous save, spoke to the Abbot, reached the priest, spoke to him and immediately set to find the bones. The bones were there (and the encounter of course happened, at that point, in the middle of he night)

If you don't find the bones, you were late.
It is bugged. Just made several tries from the save before I accept to bring the bones to the swindler. Tried everything, even killed the "Henry glasses" man after convincing that we didn't know anything about the bones. Every time I get to the place riding my buffed good ol' Pebbles, the bones are gone. Damn, might have to leave this game until they fix this. Not gamebraking but annoying enough.
Folks who bought the game have more bugs in it than the ones pirated it.

I tested this without spending any time with anything else from the start of the quest. Rode my upped Pebbles from point A to B and the bones were still missing. I even killed the "glass man" and the bones were still missing. One thing I noticed though, that the guy in the tavern who tells where about the bones are, was always beaten. I think that should happen only if you don't persuade the "glass man" that Henry and the priest doesn't know where the bones are.

You can report this (and any other bug) via this link, I just did:

I haven't got to that one yet but if its an homage to Disney's laserdisk game from the 80s it may be deliberate. I don't know anyone who could put enough quarters in to win that game but I'm sure some must have existed. You got literally seconds of gameplay before you died.

I remember that quarter pig of a game. A second homage is that constant reminder "Hero needs food. Badly.".
For me it was like this: I went to complete other quests when I took a quest to deliver the letter, at midnight it was shown that smth changed about digging bones(I didn't even know at that moment that I need to dig them). So I think timer starts with the letter - that is a point.

It's not bugged, it's a timed quest - as soon as you get it, you have to do it - period

I know captain obvious, immediately after accepting the quest I did everything as fast as possible but still nothing.

I actually tested this quest. It SEEMS, not 100% sure, that if the day changes during the quest, the bones are gone. I did it first asap but I started the quest late evening and it failed. When I loaded my save before the quest, waited until morning and started the quest then, the bones were there.

My guess is that alchemist also comes too late, as i overtook him at the woodcutter's camp and didn't and gone straight to the mark, the timer probably starts as soon as you accept the quest.
The timer starts when you talk to Gerhart. If you high tail it to the location right after you talk to him, you will have no issue to get there before the bones are dug out.

Some people might have problems not because they did smth wrong. May be some scripts have bugs. For me it was with the quest where you need to find the husband of the family from the forest hut in the south. After I cleared half of the quest I saved and quit. When I loaded the game it showed that I failed the quest. I reloaded previous save file. And it said that I failed quest again. So the quest became broken for my entire profile, not just one save file.

I agree. The first time I did this quest I gave the letter to the Abbot and went on to sell stuff at Kuttenberg before going back to dig up the bones…they were gone.
I redid the quest and went straight to Bylany to talk to Monk Slava, then Vashek, and the bones were there.
I had the same thing, I don't know since when the timer turns on. They should rebuild the timer system, even if they fix it I still won't be able to undo the save because I've played too much after failing a mission.
