KCD 2 is an interactive movie - 80% of playtime spent in cutscenes
I don't believe in the game industry anymore, every major release is such a letdown. KCD 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, but I was struggling really hard to finish KCD 2

Most of the "gameplay" time is spent in cutscenes and being locked in dialogue. I was excited to explore the world, but instead I was greeted with a 5 minutes unskippable dialogues on horseback

When I finally arrived in Kuttenberg, I skipped every single side quest possible because I knew that I was going to be greeted with 15 minutes of yapping about some drama that I don't care about

Now that I finished the main story, I don't feel like I've played a game, I feel like I just watched a new season of a TV show. KCD 2 sucks, I'm never picking it up again

So many people these days are so sensitive towards someone having a different opinion and voicing it. It is almost like because you bought the game and enjoy it that it is your duty to defend a publisher as big as Deep Silver. BTW, I completely agree with you OP. I really enjoyed the first map, but since I have reached the second map, I'm increasingly getting bored of listening to the dialogue and just skipping a lot now. Feels like the quality of the writing has dropped considerably. The plot is also razer-thin where the whole adventure is about how to safe Capon who is an absolute clown anyway.

So basicaly you play KCD 2, game which is mainly about story and quests (and that includes many dialogues logically) and in the same time you complain there are too much story and too much talking during quests..(?!)

Ok.

I think this isnt the game for you.
You need less story and talking and more action in games.
And dont try to play games like Pillars of Eternity 2 or Divinity Original Sin 2 - because you ll be bored to death. :D
KCD 1 also has a focus on story and quests, and it's one of the best games ever made. PoE2 or Divinity 2 have much more gameplay depth than KCD

When you implied that i lost to simple bandits. No one is losing fights in KCD 2. The game's combat was made easier so people like you can stop complaining about the difficulty and focus on the cutscenes
i implied that you lost to simple bandits, because your achievements are most likely cheated and i very much doubt your ability to comprehend anything beyond simple trolling maneuvers, not because the game is easier/harder
For an interactive movie enjoyer, having skills in games must be incomprehensive. Your only skills are play and pause after all

i am starting to think there are people paid to spread BS like this about the game, same as there are people being paid to spread misinformation about the Russo-Ukraine war right now. I dont know where these people got the infinite amount of cutscenes from, but its amazing how defiant you all stand. I am nearing the end of the game and I did not have these so called "hours of cutscenes with no gameplay in between".

There are two points in the story where it locks you out from freedom for a while - neither of which take extremely long unless you suck at the game, and the cutscenes themselves never last for more than 2 max 3 minutes before you are back in henrys POV again.

Don't comment to me. Comment on the game, the game locks you out for HOURS. If we are hurting your feelings about the game you can move on to the next thread and praise it.

Stop reading you at "Paid to spread BS" nothing past that, a waste of time.
I did, too bad you are unable to finish reading two small paragraphs :(

Why are you not playing it then? SO awesome and all.

Why are you so valiantly defending an alternative viewpoint in a thread then, especially to people that are getting paid to spread BS. You must be bored then as you keep going on and on.

I agree with you. There is a lot of filler in the game. They made giant maps and seemed to have trouble filling them up with relevant story.

I have to agree with poster, a little overboard on scripted events, especially when i have to follow. i'm in a part following the drunk kubyenka and I've had my fill on these lengthy scripted parts of the story. Need to shorten these up or reduce the amount of them. I like a good plot, but like anything too much of anything is not good, and too many of these lengthy scripted parts for my tastes.

You can skip most dialogues though... Just skip through the stuff you dont find interesting, that way you still level speech.

You can also design a game without all this yapping. No one cares about this hans capon crap, people just want to play the medieval life simulator and roam the world. Daniel Vavra's ego is too big to realize that. I hope he reads this topic, i'm sure he wants to know what people think of his "masterpiece"

So you hate a story driven game because it has story in it? Interesting. Anyway...

Lol you're still here complaining a story based game has lots of story?
You don't maybe want to rather go play Fortnite? I get the idea you'd be much happening there

You are almost right there, probably only a few people who started with KCD2 care about Hans Capon, but almost nobody cares about the opinion of someone criticising the game in the Steam Forums (of all places) without even owning the game to begin with.
Well granted, maybe I am wrong, but if I would be in Vavra's shoes, I wouldn't listen to anyone not having bought the game, complaining about things (not) happening in the game.
