Does having weapons affect stealth?

Does having weapons in your stealth outfit (equipped but not drawn) affect your stealth in any way?

I don't know really, but with the outfit I got from the Miller questline, my noise and visibility actually was lower with my sword and bright Shield of Spring equipped. I have a feeling that it's probably not intentional though

no you should always have a weapon for when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan so that you can defend yourself

Maybe you clink and clank more if the weapon is heavy, I'm not sure yet but armor definitely affects it.
