food poisoning is lethal huh?
so i ate a bad egg and now im going to die. i had full health but this is apparently terminal and i dont want to load it back and lose hours of gameplay before i ate the egg of doom and there are no alchemy benches in range before ill die.

is there anything else i can do and why is this even in the game? literal lethal diarrhea from a bad egg? wtf is this?

Because if you eat rotten food in the real world, you can die. In those days, there were no pills and no ambulances. If you have an infusion of calendula, drink it or eat a good meal.
That's odd. I've consumed rotten meat and without even taking an antidote I was okay... Seems rather punishing.
I mean, food poisoning back then was a very common way to die lol. Lesson learned though, now that you know, youll likely avoid eating it.

so i have to give up most of my night because they decided to slip in an overly realistic mechanic and couldnt put an alchemy bench anywhere close to this land mine that i had no idea what it would do? this is a little autistic isnt it?

First - Don't randomly roam around the map doing nothing for hours, and not save.

Second - People literally do die from food poisoning. 325,000 end up in hospital, and 5000+ die every year in the USA alone. So yes, food poisoning is, poisoning. Shocker.

Third - There is an alchemy bench at The Den, south of Semine there is a mill. There is a path to the right heading into the woods along the river. At the end, just go a little further east and you'll reach The Den and an alchemy bench.

I assume you're in the first zone because this is a stupid mistake because you ignored 3 pop-ups warning you not to do this, the intro tutorial, and the flashing red number telling you "this is rotten". Marigold pot also also save you. You can also go to a bath.

Don't get sassy when you're being stupid. You just look more stupid.

It all depends on how rotten it was. If the item's health is at 30%, you will get a slight poisoning. If it is set to 0, then the effect will be greater. You can also be higher in level, and any skill development items help you cope with this.

You can also just go to any Inn, buy the potion there or at a general trader.

Have you ever been taught not to eat rotten food or poisonous plants? perhaps after drinking the poison, you will also start losing health, so be careful next time.
