Can you get Chon the horse in the nomads camp?
In the nomad's camp near the handler is a horse named Chon, It's one of the two I've found that you can press X to view it's stats (the other being Tibor's horse Azer from the race) and isn't wearing a saddle and reins like the other horses in the camp but can you actually own them? The handler himself doesn't sell horses only equipment, is there someone else in the camp I need to talk to, are they a reward for part of the nomads quest or can you just not get them? I have finished the quest line but I didn't give the leader the letter straight away in return for a reward, I chose to do the bet for the amulet instead. Just curious as they seem to have decent stats

I just found good way to get a horse for cheap. The Black Market Horse Trader will take in Pebbles from you for any horse you bring in. All I had to do was pay 40ish Gold and I traded Pebbles which cost me around 150 for a nice 1k+ horse.

Edit:
Turns out its not just any horse. In the camp where you get ambushed at the start of the game, you'll find two horses when you go back there. One is a 42 speed that's black and the other has 38 speed which is brown. The brown one apparently is super cheap to sell and thus you can replace Pebbles with it. The horse has 1 Courage but that shouldn't matter in the early to mid game.

For reference the buyable horse Bitterklee has the same stats as this steal-able horse, only 8 less Stamina which you can get super cheap instead of for 980 the Bitterklee costs.
