As far as I'm concerned the game is amazing. Might not be for some people if they want something closer to skyrim & other rpgs designed to make you feel super powerful.
Edit - just put the usual ragebaiters on ignore and the forums become more bearable.
In terms of gameplay, this is an improved first part. The first part is great. But I also want you to get acquainted with the arguments of those who do not buy the game.

Plus the game is huge, not only the land mass but the activities too. The combat seems to be an acquired taste, but personally I enjoyed it, just takes some time to get used to. There are some bugs too that hopefully will be patched, but so far, nothing game breaking.
Visually it's great, writing (very very good) and characters are great, combat is still a block/parry affair for me, but i was terrible with it in the first game also and is likely fairly realistic. I am having more success with it, but that's likely due to Henry being less terrible at it then any actual skill improvements on my end.
Think i had maybe two options for the crossing swords thing people are mad about, clicked the literal "I like women" dialogue option and moved on. My biggest criticisms are probably the lack of world variety, it's exclusively forests and fields so far, which makes sense considering the real world location, but it's still a bummer. I also found the crafting tedious (particularly the blacksmithing minigame) but it does fit in the medieval roleplay style of the game so i won't fault it too hard for that.
I would like to see an expanded settlement management system from the first games dlc included in future, but other then that there really isn't a lot to wish for. It's also been an entirely bug free experience for me at least.
tldr - if you enjoyed the first game, this one has improved on it in multiple ways and is a great RPG.

Don't mind him, a black men stole his crush and he got traumatized
never really bothered me since it was a nice ingame buff for having sex.
