Warhorse, please consider making the Lion's Crest DLC available to purchase seperately.
So, I was unsure about the game so my friend let me play his copy on Epic during weekend, he did pre ordered the game. Long story short I really liked the game and bought Gold Edition on Steam however I'm missing Lion's Crest DLC which was a pre-order bonus and not available for any other way so the game won't load my save. I've rescued Pavlena, I've become a potion master, I'm finally adequate enough to wield a proper sword, and the game is just picking up the pace so I don't want to do all of that again, not now anyways.

Honestly if or when I replay the game I'm not gonna pick up that armour. Getting it kinda smeared the gear progression in the first area as most of the stuff I found or they were selling was worse. IMO not having that added content is better. Plus the helmet is a bit silly and hides your face in cutscenes

Yeah I searched for it just for fun and to put the armor in the stash in the end. It's obvious this stuff given to you for free makes things too easy

Well, it is either stats or fomo and the latter is such a sad thing that I was giving you the benefit of doubt.

Seriously the armor is ugly and not that great. The connected quest is just find the spot marked x times 5.

So there is nothing you are missing out on.

Preorder content isn't just items though, it's a quest
It's just a bunch of maps. You talk to the scribe and he gives you the first map. You find that location and get another map, etc. Not much a of a quest.
Just use the console command to give yourself the first map if you must

We don't want the armor. I honestly don't care about it at all.

However, much like the OP, I started my save in a version of the game that had the DLC, and having bought the gold version of the game for myself on Steam, I am unable to load my save.

I'd be happy to remove the Lion's Crest DLC from my save entirely if it were possible, but it's not. The idea behind being able to buy the DLC is simply to allow us to load our existing save.

I know, its always a bad feeling visiting that village at the beginning of the game, since I know, that I missed out on a quest. I bet u guys (@Warhorse) would make a lot of money selling it for five Euros/Dollars/Eddies. At the moment people get just ripped of by scalpers... And these are your fans, the consumers of your product...

Same here, i refunded the game and about to play at my friends computer.

agreed OP; not a fan of pre-order incentive.

Its ABSOLUTE BULL to those who cant afford to spend time to stay in the LOOP. Im sick of waiting for something to come out to find out, WAH WAH you needed to pay us early WAH WAH. I LOVE this game, On my 2nd playthrough already, just stupid I will never get to do this now I guess, I really wasnt expecting this kind of game to had a stupid DLC locked behind a pre order bonus. Other then this the game is 11/10 and the devs are awesome.
yup, refunding it right now because of this

edit: refund received, continuing my save file on cracked version downloaded for free on skidrow, 1.12 already available on skidrow as well, I do not preorder games and do not buy them at release, only pay if I like them after I tried it the cracked version for free and I am sure I am getting the fair amount of gameplay hours for the price asked

80 euros lost for the developers, who gives a fudge they sold two milion copies booh-ooh, hurray for me for being a responsible customer /s

Preorder exclusive DLC is just such a dumb idea. The pirated copy of the game always has all the bonus DLC, it really incentivizes just pirating the game instead of buying it because you don't want to miss out on content just for not dropping ~$100 on something that's not even released yet.

Content which nearly always destroys every balance in every game. I dont even know one game where the dlc items fitted in.

There were always stronger that what you can get at a time ingame. Or in this case, the Brunswick armor is so good, its the best armor on the first map and i didnt see much armor that is much better on the second map. So you literally get nearly the best armor set that you dont need to change for nearly the whole game.

So i always suggest to NOT use any dlc items, cause they never fit in properly. Ofc i understand why they are stronger, cause who wants to pay for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ items, but at the end you just destroy economy/progress in a game with these items.

I first pirated the game and finished it that way. Afterwards, I decided to buy it and for current reasons, I will return it and continue playing crack.
There needs to be an incentive to preorder now that there is digital delivery and no possibility of a shortage of copies on release day.

Otherwise, people will just 'wait and see' until the player reviews come in after release day. Preorder DLC's like this are a reward for players taking the risk of paying full price for a game of relatively unknown quantity.

It makes sense to release as paid DLC later on for those that want it. The 'I'm incentivised to pirate' argument is juvenile. You're incentivised to pirate anyway by saving $70, so it's doubtful not getting a small DLC like this is what pushed you over the edge.
I second the OP. lion's crest DLC content was on a family share license. Tried to purchase a second license for the game and it won't load the saves (didn't even do the dlc) and now I can't purchase the dlc. 40 hours in.... don't really want to start over. I asked steam for my money back for now until the devs consider resolving this. I'll just have to be patient.
