I'm about to upgrade my horse and I feel bad for Pebbles.
I'm about to switch to a younger, stronger, more beautiful horse and I feel bad for Pebbles even though its just a game. Damn them for making me care. ;)

Wait with upgrading till you travel 50 km on Pebbles. Believe me it's worth it.

I got the perk after about 35.7 KM ridden. And it is a massive upgrade for Pebbles.

Great thing is that NPCs change their comments on Pebbles too which is hilarious.

Herring, the other horse you can get from the story has a similar upgrade.

I have unlocked the perks on the second horse. So far I havent needed a new horse. But some extra courage would be nice so I could fight on horseback.

She should respawn back at Semine after awhile if she isn't your current horse.

Anyone know how to tell how far your horse has traveled? I'm not seeing it and a search for the info has been unsuccessful.

Theres a statistics page in the menu somehwere (maybe under character) that lists you travel distances. (If it says zero KM get on your horse, move a little, then check again)

Figured it out. Fast travel is figured separately from on foot but counts for total distance. I've only ridden Pebbles 29km so far.
