your 0.5x comment is because your stats are low
Yes - full plated enemies can run without issues, you can poison them with arrows to stop it
No lock on system
80% reduced? its like 90% now - combat is basically back up swipe the enemy 50/50 it lands, repeat... actually fighting the way the game tells you to leads to death and infinite slash block block slash slash block etc
once you unlock the master strike again, it becomes a bit more interesting where you have a choice to defend an incoming strike or respond with a master strike instead, and there are circumstances where either one can be the best option.
it was a little tedious before that point, but overall I think it's a great improvement on KCD1.
pretty sure my stats are not low anymore when around or over 10
also why can a bandit that has zero training swing faster with a longsword vs me who spend days training to improve my skills...
10? Thats not a high stat mate... 10 is pretty much a low stat across the board
The last skill you can learn is at level 13. Which indicates that it would be "end game stats" and 10 is not even remotley "low". Remember where our number system starts.
-Dodging just doesn't work sometimes, the game just ignores your input.
-Dodging is also extremely janky against multiple targets. You'll Perfect Dodge the enemy you're locked onto only for another enemy to initiate an attack while you're still in the "Dodging" state which means you aren't given a chance to block it even though this enemy should be too far away to attack you.
-Enemies make attacks without ever presenting you with a perfect block opportunity. This happens even in 1v1 but It's particularly bad when against multiple enemies. You can have two enemies more or less right in front of you and the one you're not locked onto will attack without ever presenting a block opportunity. Seems to be related to terrain and elevation differences, basically fighting on ANYTHING other than flat terrain is a ♥♥♥♥ show.
-In combination with the issue above, getting hit once usually results in the enemy hitting you over and over with no chance to recover or break the chain. It feels like absolute ♥♥♥♥ when an enemy you have clear visibility on attacks you, presents no chance to defend against their initial attack and no chance to recover so you just have to soak like 4 hits.
-Sometimes you'll perfect block and initiate a riposte and the game just outright ignores it and the enemy you're riposting against just hits you anyways
-Enemies initiate attacks essentially through their allies. You can position them well and while doing a block/riposte chain, the enemy behind your target will initiate an attack.
And more.
There's still a lot of jank with it like in the first game since the bones are essentially the same.
It's still not great, but I also don't know how they'd improve it without just making something completely new. It's MUCH more tolerable than the first game though.
I doubt this will make it to 2025 when it releases in the first quarter of 2025 and Eldenring DLC coming out this year.^^
