Sorry, but you're just being the "quit having fun" meme.

I hope you get lots of Steam points though.

lol if simple peasants can perfect block all your attacks it is because you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck

The combat seems to be a pretty good jump over KCD 1's. KCD 1 was way too punishing of offense unless you were out-statting your enemy. Combos are worth performing now and you can't just mindlessly spam master strike.

Combat in KCD2 actually has a real and working mechanism now. In KCD1 the only way to land an actual hit on anyone is to perform a feint and strike. In KCD2, you can defeat any enemy as long as you out stamina them.

The combat is way better, masterstrikes ARE fixed, you don't need to spam them and you won't be hit with any if you have 2 braincells or more. The attack zones don't change anything. They got rid of the useless ones. I agree on the bs with swords though, I was going into the game thinking I will play polearms, but you are basically forced to play a longsword or shortsword. Backpedalling - whatever. Targeting - it is slightly better, but not much. Enemy scaling - that is just yapping, peasants don't masterstrike, they will block and riposte though, if you're too stupid to figure out combat, you're not meant to go in a parry, riposte cycle. Combat AI is fine, a bit too easy.

Sounds honestly like you haven't played the game or have a skill issue. I agree with the journalists, after playing the game is lacking in some areas and this was not touched on by any of the people that played like 200h, crazy to me. It's also not as bad though as in the crying reddit post. Combat is miles better than kcd 1, but the limit on just being able to play swords is annoying.

Some of it is a bit dumb. Like being able to parry a pole axe with a one handed weapon. There should at least be a chance of smashing through block in some situations. Pole weapons over all seem poorly implemented.

I am still having fun with it though.

You can master strike with maces, etc. you just have to use a shield
I had more fun with KCD2 combat compared to KCD1. It fixed a lot of issues and it made combat more smooth in my opinion.
Combat is way better in KCD 2, however the AI difficulty and overall player damage needs to be adjusted. Other weapons also need to be given master strikes, it makes no sense mechanically why they don't other than balance which in that case it actively is creating imbalance.

Anyone saying that the combat system in KCD 1 is superior is just straight up lying or is too drunk on nostalgia to think critically.

So I think the reason for this is a bit meta. Enemies have access to all of the combat mechanics that Henry does. If Henry could master strike with a hammer, the enemy would be able to too. Making it so no one can master strike with a hammer means that they can control how many enemies can master strike you by controlling how many of them have swords.

Enemies can masterstrike with hammers and fists, I've had it happen to me multiple times, I haven't yet experienced it with polearms however.

I've seen fists but have yet to see a master strike from a hammer.
