Fighting Wolves - Method?
How do you fight wolves? If you block and try to ripost you always miss because they get out of range almost immediately. If you try to swing as they get close they seem to always bite your ankle. the only way ive been able to damage them is after they bite me.

welcome to the club
I haven't had any trouble with riposte after blocking. Maybe I'm moving toward the wolf when I do it.
early game get an axe for wolves.

wait for them to attack, parry and riposte, axe should swing fast enough to hit 1-2 times more and kill them before they can run away.

late game your strength and skill should be high enough to just 1 shot them with any weapon.
I just stand there and block/counter until they run away from combat after a few hits. Hate fighting them though, the way Henry forgets how a sword works around wolves is both weird and badly designed gameplay.

Wait for them to attack, perfect block and then attack them. It's easy.

Here's how you fight wolves:

1) Never chase
2) Face the one that's coming after you
3) Block on green and take ONE swing after the block. If you hit or miss don't waste another swing. After the block the wolves will turn, circle and come back.
4) After your repost swing turn to next wolf that's attacking and repeat
only way to fight there right . you wait until you can perfect block then u have window to 2 hit them. 2 hits with any sword and they dead
You pretty much have to block/counter and hope the other wolves don't gang up on you (they will). Swinging a sword toward them does nothing, it looks like the sword goes right through them, looks kinda fake honestly.

I wen't crazy swinging my sword randomly maybe a dozen times and never touched them, even when it was cornered between rocks and could't move, it didn't look right a all. Can't tell if it's a bug or just poor implementation.
Yeah, like everybody says. Wolves are easy. You just wait for the green-shield icon, press right-click (guard) and then left-click (attack). Henry will dodge to the side and then whack them.
youd think the torch would be something we could use against wolves

i get that same feeling.. it looks like my sword should hit them but it doesnt. I also notice this on some NPC's ive fought.

this is what ive been doing, using a sword and shield. maybe im not attacking soon enough after block?

Im going to try to use an axe like someone suggested.
The windows for riposte is really fast after blocking with the wolves. Much faster than with humans.

I like using dollmaker poison on weapons. It prevents enemies from running, so wolves are sitting ducks after you hit them once.

I also like it for hunting, you hit stag with poisoned arrow once and it can only sloooowly walk away.
