Edited to add workaround:
Connect local wireless remote to PC and turn on (mine is one with a 2.4 dongle)
Disable steam input under Kingdom Come game properties in controller tab
Make sure to keep the local wireless remote powered on - but no need to use it (very laggy far from PC). However while it stays powered on, the bluetooth controller connected to the Steam Link session works even within KCD2. If the local wifi controller falls asleep, the remote bluetooth controller stops working in game/mid-step. We have to wait for a bug fix, and use this clunky workaround in the meantime
