Any tips for finding nests after shooting them down?

It keeps happening that I can't find the nest on the ground after knocking it out of the tree. Has anyone found any tips to locate them? I tried turning down foliage graphics but that didn't seem to help.

Yeah they seem to get rolling away fast, just try to run fast and keep your eye on it.

I think it's a bug. I swear multiple nests have disappeared on me after I shoot them down.

Really godawful system. They were much easier to find before. There is no help honestly just save and pray. They need to fix the bug of them flying off. They should be stationary after falling, and more visible.

Has anyone found anything good in them ever though? I found lockpicks or eggs, nothing else, but I remember getting stuff like jewelry or rings in the first game
