Weapon drawing speed is too slow/firearm animation too slow
Especially for firearms, also for other weapons, but this problem is most severe on firearms. City guards can draw their weapons way faster than henry. it basically eliminate a firearm play style: im thinking of carrying 2 or 3 handgonne plus a sword, at the beginning of the fight i release all these guns in a row, then join melee. But with the slow weapon drawing/switching speed, even release one gun is dangerous, enemy can easily charge into the melee range before I sheath my gun and draw my sword.
also the entire firearm animation is way tooooo slow. I mean the time for henry to place the handgonne under his armpit and hold that hot metal wire on position. it just unreal and unreasonable a normal human need 3 seconds to put a stick under his armpit!
Also the ignition time is too long, it shouldnt take 1 second, since it doesnt use a fuse as the animations show. Instead a hot metal wire is used to directly touch the powder in the chamber, so the ignition should be just a blink.
Also the beginning part of the reloading animation, when henry holds the handgonne up, its more like a grandpa using his walking stick.

Agreed, that and they are ridiculously inaccurate. I've been testing the firearms with a marksman level 15. You have to be right in front of a character for the lead or shrapnel ammo land. I've been testing on a sleeping bandit for the past 20 minutes trying to aim where a reticle would be and alternatively aim where the barrel is pointing, both do not land at any reasonable distance

Damn dude that's crazy, an extremely early gunpowder weapon being ineffective and a person unable to properly wield one? Wiiiiiild~

Thats only a part of the problem, you may argue as a novel weapon, people cant handle it well, but the slow weapons switching speed is universal to all weapons.
Also, as your point, it is pretty natural to implement some faster firearms shooting/reloading animation as the shooting skill levels up right? henry gets more familiar with the weapon. but devs didnt do that as well.

Uh, it's a weapon like any other. It doesn't matter what it is, an exaggeratedly long animation for simply pulling it out or swapping it is complete nonsense. Don't be ignorant.
thank god for this mod

faster bow charge

(pistole will always be unwieldy and ineffective though)

Not sure how I feel about it. Earliest guns surely were not a .50 cal sniper rifle.... but in most games (of the few that have any early guns) they often overdo it with the 'icaccuracy'.

Or also commonly have other range weapons hit where aimed at, with aiming made difficult, but treat guns differently, by randomly not hitting where aimed at.

Vreating a weird divide and feeling 'off'
Once you get the better guns, they are pretty devastating at a decent range. They still take forever to fire/reload though. These are super crude guns after all so seems fair. You can also fill all your weapon slots with them to have 4 shots fairly quickly. :devilskiss:
