Ars Dimicatoria - bug?

Hi, im in the middle of swordman from frankfurt quest. I stole the sword(nobody seen me) and tournament is starting, after intro cutscene(oaths) i can't do anything and city counselor(important one) says i did something wrong(not anything specifc) and tells me that im banned from tournament and quest ends by a fauilure.
Any1 knows what actually happenned, is it a bug or i did anything wrong?

Seems this quest is pretty buggy. I also have a stupid bug : unlike you, I can go on with the tournament but... cannot draw my sword and have to fight with my fists !

I was doing more things between stealing sword and tournament itself, decided to load a safe just before i decided to steal sword. I just focused on this quest and everything was ok, i guess there is a bug that makes you lose tournament if you have done anything bad between stealing the sword and tournament itself(i guess this "ending" is supposed to happen if you steal/disobey tournament rules)

If you fail the quest, reload before tourney starts, you then need to get caught by a guard in Kuttenberg, pay the fine, and you are able to enter the tourney.

funny.. i stole the sword without getting caught or seen and right before of the fight the herld come and say that im banned for dishoinorable actions.. after that said quest failed.... any clues?

I get to the final round of the tourney, wait in the corner for the last duel to start and Nicholas doesnt turn up, then after about five minutes it says the duel is over and that Nicholas won. Very annoying.

Check if you have stolen items in your inventory.
I had the same bug.
Reloaded before the tournament and put all stolen items away in my stash.
It's fixed.

IN MY CASE I POISONED THE BLADE THATS WHY THE MISSION WAS FAILING

No stolen items, no poisoned blade. Still cannot draw a blade.
Game is bugged TF.

And I can't get into the ring at the tournament. Has anyone encountered such a problem?

Ya'll. Before you start the tournament, go get yourself in trouble and pay a fine. Preferably get searched for stolen items as well. That'll clear you of any "dishonourable acts" and you should be able to continue the quest without anymore issues.

If anyone is experiencing the bug where you can't equip the tournament swords against Menhard at the start of the quest chain, or against Menhard's friend later on, just make sure that your weapon slot 1 is empty, so the game can auto-equip the tourney sword.

make sure no weapon is equipped in slot 1

Well if there's this red icon with bars top middle left side then you are screwed really.
Blocks a lot of quests, shouldn't happen in-between though

Did you mess up with where you should be standing before he goes "ding ding ding, bash your heads in"?
Fiddled around with your equipment maybe?
