throw stones and sneak it'S the only option for that mission...
if you have access to the Kitchen then you can go up the big wooden stairs in the courtyard to reach the servant kitchen there is a guard that wants something to eat you give him an apple and you are almost already in the alchemy lab then you just need to get to the captain and make a fever medizin for him everything for that can be found in the chest besides the lab

it's a stealth mission, but you can do side quests that'll give you more access in the towers so you don't have to stealth as much.

right or if your charisma/wisdom is high enough you can talk to the camberlain in the big kitchen and cure him then you can move trough the whole castle

yes i did that

it seemed to be bgged .. after 2 reloads it worked .. and i could go everywhere
this mission took me forever. basically once i knew what the sidequest people needed, it was a lot easier. talk to the people you can and do what you can for them. especially ulrich. eventually you'll get it.

Here's what I did:

- Get a job from the Blacksmith: get access to the inner castle
- Talk to the cook in front of the smith about the locked chest
- Smith a horseshoe
- Give to the blacksmith in exchange for lockpicks
- In the kitchen, there's a guy feeling unwell. Diagnose an ulcer. Get access to more of the castle.
- Go up until you reach the alchemy station. Here you can brew the potion for the ulcer, and the potion for the captain.
- Give the potion for the ulcer.
- Give the potion for the captain.
- Done.

Later, I found out you don't even have to brew anything. There's a room across the alchemy room with both potions. Or maybe one of them is in the scribe's room. I hope you have good lockpicking skills. Good luck!
Pretty sure all the advice above will help, the biggest thing for me was not jumping into the well until AFTER you have the fever potion. That way you don't have to backtrack again.
