Getting Mutt is the most painful ♥♥♥♥ ever
I just want my dog, but no instead you have to suffer through fetch quests for an ever growing list of NPCs you dont care about that keep telling you to go check in with someone else after you have finished the boring task they assign to you. I get that its designed to get tou to move around the map and find new location and NPCs but bro… dont dangle a carrot in front of me only to tell me that the carrot must be in another place. I just wanna get my dog quickly so that I can get some help fighting gangs and move on to the main quest.

Don't like the game. don't play it I guess. I had fun getting mutt. Yes, it took longer than expected, but it was an interesting time.

Regarded comment. I do like the game but that specific quest blows ass.
here is me, stumbled upon him by accident :steamhappy:
PRetty positive you don't need a quest to get him, just to find him. He is likely always in the spot you pick him up at, so if you wanna avoid the hub-bub, just look at the location and go there.

i think that is a good quest deisgn because for the second playthrough you can just prepare and get him. ^^

It's just a way to avoid giving you a busted tool right from the start like the first game did.
Same reason it doesn't give you a horse immediately, same reason it doesn't teach you masterstrikes right from the beginning and so on.
It just shows the devs have learned a thing or two about gradually rewarding you with comfort and upgrades.
Also I found Mutt randomly while wandering completely drunk at night.
He is a good boy. He is worth it.

Bruh... you should re-evaluate your life choices.
I could never be arsed with that dog, not even in KCD 1.

Yes and no, because trying to execute a reward system like that into a game is a delicate balance. You have to make sure the game isn't too boring, tedious, or difficult early on that people are going to play long enough to start experiencing that reward system. KCD2 really pushes the boundaries beyond what's reasonable. For most people Mutt runs away immediately anyways, so some reward.

With how refunds work now, and the fact that people are squeamish with their money these days, especially when games are 80-100 dollars now, it wasn't a very smart decision. People are refunding it because of how tedious and difficult the start is since they only have about 2 hours to try it out before they can't refund it anymore. The other thing is that games are fun because they "aren't realistic", KCD2 was so adamant about realism that it had no qualms sacrificing fun and enjoyment to be more realistic. Effectively turning itself into tedious time/money wasting Medieval simulator for the vast majority of gamers because the game was advertised as this amazing action RPG with survival elements instead of what it really is.

Bro. No.

I'm sorry you did not enjoy it. I loved it from the start. I did not enjoy KCD 1. However, KCD 2 is awesome, IMHO.

Wow shocker. 90% of the quests are terrible. The rest are just either broken or boring. 2nd half of the game I literally don't even want to play anymore because Hans just wont stop whining for hours on end. I literally wish Hans could just die at the beginning so I don't have to listen to him be a whiny little ♥♥♥♥♥ the whole game and just make everything worse by being an entitled little ♥♥♥♥.
its a rpg man
Without spoiling anything - the game started at the pond where you lost him - it stands to reason that he is near the pond, More specifically find the wild woman and the poacher camps and you are close - near the pond.

Have fun wandering around in the forest for a half hour while mutt owners can use him to track our targets
