Is the game too easy for anyone else?
Might be my fault for doing all the side quests and not even at the wedding yet but swinging a longsword through a bunch of bandits is much easier than in KCD1 vs 2 cumans.

I'm wondering whether it gets harder (is pre-wedding easy tutorial mode?) or have I plateau'd in terms of the difficulty curve? Can any Kuttenberg folks comment?

There is a hardcore mod, put it on and it became much more interesting to fight https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/207?tab=description

Zimburg. 2nd map , my hardest fight so far

Second as far as difficulty was
Mathiew the collector band in the open 10ish duders. not all armored , some died in 1 hit
You can poison their food in their camp , but i took them in the open
I'm not there yet, but once I do reach it I will try to record my 1st attempt and post it back here.
It's a fun hard fight. I've done it blind so , try to avoid spoilers, just know it was intense , at least for me.
The games were always easy. KCD1 was also easy.

Sometimes, but not always. For example, i always do riposte and enemy always blocks it like nothing so i dunno what i am doing wrong lol.

The problem is that realistic way the armor works in this game is advantage for player as most enemies are not good enough to properly react. I dropped trying to use combos are they are mostly useless and take too long when all and I really mean ALL enemies are weak to perfect block - hit combo and master strike. Not a single enemy gave any challenge. The fight with Zizko was 2 hits and the final fight in Trosky was 2 hits. Got to Kuttenberg and the ambush is basically hitting enemies back while they're engaged with Your allied. The only guy i had to fight head on got down in 3 hits. AI is not good enough to manage reacting to player.

It feels a lot easier than the first game yes

I agree, there are a few enemies where I feel like they have fast combos and likely several perks, that'll give me a run for my money but otherwise I can take on whole camps at once. Even the tough guys, just means they'll live a bit longer until I take care of them.

I think the biggest turning point for me was getting some armor for group fights, and doing all the side quests before the wedding leading to me have an insanely stated character. I'm hoping as I get further along the NPCs will pick up a bit. Old Semein(forget how to spell it) during the wedding tournament, was a really tough fight, one slip and he combos me to oblivion.

I have similar feeling, mostly because some skills are easy to master (strenght for example, or crafting - i reached Martin level gear before actually learning how to craft at smithy during that main quest LOL). Another reason is, that game constantly spawn enemies in front of you. And the funniest part - i discovered herbalist that sells healing potion after 30 hours, only realizing he was in starting town the whole time :D
Not that i needed him that much, with that regeneration skill...

But again, KCD1 was easy too, once you knew how game and combat works... using a brain helps a lot.

Using brain is basically cheating. It makes it even easier.

I have definitely heard at least one reviewer saying that they became overpowered because they did everything.

It is always a tough balancing act for open world games, trying to make it so that players can focus on the main story if they want and not have to do all of the side content and still be able to finish the game but that usually means that people who do everything become overpowered.
I became OP in the first 20 hours of gameplay, and I didn't fight a lot. The combat system is just so easy. In fact, in KCD1, I needed to at least learn combos and watch the enemy's position or even focus a little against hard opponents. In KCD2, I can just go 1 vs 20 spamming attacks and win without receiving a single hit. This happened to me in the mission where you escape from Trosky Castle. One soldier detected me when I was untying the mission guy, and I ended up killing everyone in the forest in one single combat with no armor, just spamming perfect parries and attacks. It's a complete mess. :blocked:

Unfortunately this is why games like Chivalry had to be dumbed down, games like Elden Ring have to include "easy mode" like magic, etc.

The combat in KCD2 just sucks plain and simple.
I played Chivalry, Chivalry 2, and Mordhau, and found Mordhau had the highest skill ceiling out of all of them by far.
And yes Chivalry 2 was too dumbed for my tastes.

The skill ceiling in KCD2 though is definitely lower than Mordhau and is more difficult while being simultaneously easier after learning a few mechanics.
It's hard to explain, creating a sensation similar to the uncanny valley but with video game combat that almost everybody notices in one way or another.
I believe the lack of control over one's character while in combat to be the primary cause of this issue.

On one side it's too difficult, and on the other it's too easy, both sides resulting in the same problem; it's just not fun.

You have ♥♥♥♥-all stamina at the start of the actual game which is a death sentence.
You can't even fight properly this way

You can fight just fine early game, you just can't spam attacks.

I think KCD2 is a bit on the easier side than the first game.
The first map is way too easy, but once you get to the Kuttenberg map, things ramp up very quickly

Masterstrikes are still OP though. I've switched to other weapons to challenge myself more

NPC level with you. A band of bandits at lvl20 is not easy. They can counter your combos and attack you at once. Mutt for some reason is a hellhound. I've seen him kill full armor NPCs with a few bites.

Not really bandits are always easy becuase their armors is leather or few pieces of plates.

Even without Master strikes you can simple kill them in 2-3 hits.

When you reach Kuttenberg you start to see some enemies worth more attention, but even there only if they are 4 or more.

I used poison on weapon for the first time only when i reached a certain place in Kuttenberg where 6-7 enemies attacked me together with fully or partially fully armor.

The first map is basically a long tutorial.
