It is always a tough balancing act for open world games, trying to make it so that players can focus on the main story if they want and not have to do all of the side content and still be able to finish the game but that usually means that people who do everything become overpowered.
I would wager a ton of people didn't actually read the tooltip for feinting and are not holding the click to transition to a feint, instead merely switching directions, attacking and believing they are feinting when they are not.
Additionally I would wager many players never use the shift key in combat to disengage, reset and engage alternating targets as the game clearly explains, hence they are reporting getting "mobbed." Just my guesses.
Not even to mention you can buy a 50 groschen crossbow, and with the dog to tank you can pretty easily down 2-3 enemies without ever even entering a melee engagement.
Unfortunately this is why games like Chivalry had to be dumbed down, games like Elden Ring have to include "easy mode" like magic, etc.
You have ♥♥♥♥-all stamina at the start of the actual game which is a death sentence.
You can't even fight properly this way
Won't get into some of the other stuff, but Chivalry 1 had a great combat system that didn't suffer from a lot of this. That said, Chivalry combat system while allowing you to be situationally aware, had the down-flaw of dealing with stupidity of Vanguard helicopter Zweihander things.
It depends.
If you put yourself in situations to get encircled and staggered then you can die even if you are in the best armor.
But eventually , with little prep you can deal with all situations, as long as you are aware of your surroundings and use pots etc.

Can't even reach the combat tutorial dude without getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Ballerina didn't enter the Chivalry meta until late, and could have easily been amended. They opted not to do so, and elected to create an arcade brawler with more mass appeal in Chivalry 2 instead. Very sad outcome.
Hopefully they will change that in the future, or add legacy difficulty so they all fight at the same time. Whether or not this changes as you progress, I'm not sure, probably not.
