Is the game too easy for anyone else?
Might be my fault for doing all the side quests and not even at the wedding yet but swinging a longsword through a bunch of bandits is much easier than in KCD1 vs 2 cumans.

I'm wondering whether it gets harder (is pre-wedding easy tutorial mode?) or have I plateau'd in terms of the difficulty curve? Can any Kuttenberg folks comment?

I have definitely heard at least one reviewer saying that they became overpowered because they did everything.

It is always a tough balancing act for open world games, trying to make it so that players can focus on the main story if they want and not have to do all of the side content and still be able to finish the game but that usually means that people who do everything become overpowered.
Yup, most of the mechanics are simplified.
I barely played KCD1 and can still commiserate. It seemed pretty obvious to go straight to the sword trainer and prioritize learning master strike as priority 1/to acquire a decent sword as priority 2. No enemy has even remotely stood a chance in combat, soloing 4-5 bandits, guards, etc taking 1-2 hits, if that.

I would wager a ton of people didn't actually read the tooltip for feinting and are not holding the click to transition to a feint, instead merely switching directions, attacking and believing they are feinting when they are not.

Additionally I would wager many players never use the shift key in combat to disengage, reset and engage alternating targets as the game clearly explains, hence they are reporting getting "mobbed." Just my guesses.

Not even to mention you can buy a 50 groschen crossbow, and with the dog to tank you can pretty easily down 2-3 enemies without ever even entering a melee engagement.

Unfortunately this is why games like Chivalry had to be dumbed down, games like Elden Ring have to include "easy mode" like magic, etc.

Are we playing the same game?

You have ♥♥♥♥-all stamina at the start of the actual game which is a death sentence.
You can't even fight properly this way

Won't get into some of the other stuff, but Chivalry 1 had a great combat system that didn't suffer from a lot of this. That said, Chivalry combat system while allowing you to be situationally aware, had the down-flaw of dealing with stupidity of Vanguard helicopter Zweihander things.

It depends.
If you put yourself in situations to get encircled and staggered then you can die even if you are in the best armor.
But eventually , with little prep you can deal with all situations, as long as you are aware of your surroundings and use pots etc.

It's just like KCD 1, once you get the hang of the mechanics it's super easy. Can't wait for hardcore mode.

I totally disagree, the game just ♥♥♥♥♥ in your face from the the get-go - you can block like 4 times without running out out stamina tadaaa, you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Can't even reach the combat tutorial dude without getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥

In KCD 1 combat was rewarding, and way more easy then in KCD 2. Here your stamina is gone with 1 or 2 swings. Enemies kill you regardless of gear in 1 or 2 hits.

I have sold all of my pots the entire time and haven't been in particular danger in any combat event. You definitely don't need to use pots.

Ballerina didn't enter the Chivalry meta until late, and could have easily been amended. They opted not to do so, and elected to create an arcade brawler with more mass appeal in Chivalry 2 instead. Very sad outcome.

Get naked and find a short ceiling to spam jump under. 2xp per jump, if you need 300 xp that's 150 jumps.
From what I've seen online so far, they have made combat pretty boring compared to the first game. When you fight 'groups' you're basically picking them off one by one. They are dancing around awaiting their turn to attack, and will only do so after you killed one.

Hopefully they will change that in the future, or add legacy difficulty so they all fight at the same time. Whether or not this changes as you progress, I'm not sure, probably not.

This is not even true. The enemy swings are ridiculously telegraphed and appear to even be partially slowed beyond their realistic speed. I can probably perfect block 95% of the enemy swings, yielding no stamina drain, and riposte --> feint is probably 80% successful for a hit. Not to mention once you get master strike with a longsword, it feels like an abuse mechanic with how telegraphed enemy swings are. We do not appear to be playing the same game.

I also find this rather annoying/unrealistic and do wish in groups, enemies would be more aggressive. As it stands now it is too easy, the enemies just essentially rotate until death.
