Why do I have to hit a dog with a sword 6 to 8 times for it to die?

Yeah, this makes no sense. You guys over did it a little bit here. Spongy enemies are not fun to fight. If you want to make the combat deadly, cool. Why am I always fighting 2 plus entities too? This isn't fun.

They die in 2 for me so not sure, I will say that not being able to attack them at all until they parry is really weird. Do you have the stats to wield your weapon? When I first started and found a longsword it would 3 tap them and wolves, which you could always get away with doing by parrying them first and attacking 3 times after.

This is skill issue / low stats and crappy weapon.
I can one shot most enemies with basic tier 3 longsword, master strike and mediocre stats.

Everyone is touting how this game is so "REALISTIC!"... sorry, I don't care how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ your weapon is, you can literally kill a wolf with a broken dagger if you needed to in a few nasty thrusts in real life.

If it was a 'skill' issue then how would I know how many strikes it took to kill dogs, lol. Obviously I am 'skilled' if I am able to do this with a 'crappy weapon'. Lol. Try using that matter between your ears.

If a healthy grown man, one who has seen melee combat before as Henry has, hit a 60 pound dog in anger with even a rusty, dull sword it would at the very least be incapacitated if not dead. Your complete lack of common sense is disturbing. Don't walk around in the real world. You might be putting yourself in harms way.

Let me also say I am absolutely loving the game. However even if I am enjoying something it is NOT above criticism. The game t prides itself on 'realism' and it doesn't deliver in some cases. Like I said, stop simping for a game.

Skill issue. Increase your strength or use a stronger sword. 99.9% of your problems will be solved with higher state or gear. Christ be praised.

Im with you and forget the pimple faces that say its a skill issue, any human worth anything that hit a dog with a weapon would likely kill it in one hit, and Henry being a bloke from his time period would be 20X stronger than most modern men and would tear the dogs face off with one hit.

This only occurs right at the beginning with the first weapons. Very quickly they become a breeze.

I'm using it with no stat penalties and 100% condition, plus several perks for extra damage etc.

Bruh I just loaded previous save with 7/8 stats and the worst axe in the entire game 59/30 dmg tier III I was able to kill wolf in three hits and random civilian in two, so yeah honesty i doubt about that.
