Can you own more than one horse?

I chose to keep Pebbles, before I go through the effort of stealing Herring, taking him to the merchant that make stolen horses "clean", and rebuying him...is there even a point?

EDIT: For anyone wondering, nope. I did it and Pebbles disappeared. I guess you can only have one horse at a time

He's at the Nomad's Camp, North West of Semine but South West of Zhelejov.

He has his own icon on the map in the Nomad's Camp, you can't really miss him

FYI you can find Pebbles again at the Semine horse trader if you want her back.
