Devs. Please, Help... (DLC Lions Crest Save Trouble)

I spent about 20 hours in the game via a copy of the game from Steam Family sharing. The thing is that this copy - has dlc for pre-order - lions crest. Today I bought the max game edition, and realized that I can't play on my version of the game, as it doesn't have the dlc for pre-order...

I found the right lines in the save files that specify the right dlc, but I have no idea how to edit them to make them work after saving. Tried normal notepad and C++ notepad, but nothing works, apparently they are encrypted somehow. The file extension is “.whs” - I don't know what it is and I haven't found a program on the internet to read these files. Tell me, how can I solve this problem without going through the game again?

How can I just delete the dlc from my save file and continue the walkthrough?.....

P.s. The game's official support has responded that the only way to fix this issue is to start the game over again. Don't waste your time looking for other solutions. It is not possible without decrypting the save file.

I have this exact same problem. I would love some sort of solution to strip the Lion Crest DLC out of a save file.

i was able to find dlc code sold alone by one of those websites that sell game keys and was able to add the dlc to my account tho i had to pay another 60 euros just for the lion's crest dlc code alone

for everyone else who wanna try the game out with family share first.

go to the games properties in your library and turn off the pre-order DLC (and any other DLCs that came with gold edition if your friend bough that)
then the DLCs wont be part of your save and you can load it again when you buy your own copy.

Guys, I found the only solution to the problem. I refunded game on Steam and found a key for the Gold Edition game, which includes a pre-order bonus.
Now the game loads my save normally.
IMPORTANT!
Do this at your own risk, making sure that what you are buying is reliable.

SOLUTION FOUND: user "Practical_Second_712" on Reddit has identified that if you go into the "steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Bin\" you can have someone who has the Lions Crest DLC send you a ZIP of the "Win64MasterMasterSteamPGO" and the "Win64Shared" and then you overwrite it with yours. This will let you load those save files now. Keep in mind, this might need to do re-applied each time a new update comes out.

If you cannot find someone with that DLC, they provided a link to download those zipped files of their own. I used theirs in this case and it worked a charm!

I dont really condone sailing the open seas but if you download the edition from one of those places and copy the Win64MasterMasterSteamPGO and the Win64Shared and overwrite the folders in your legitimate steam copy it will fix the issue. Dont know if this is bannable or some ♥♥♥♥ but i feel its fair if it allows you to actually play the game you paid money for.

It worked here but if you notice it disconnected from online, and these files are from the cracked version, won't that cause problems with the achievements?

I have the same issue :( Dont want to use the files from the cracked version.
I even would pay 5€ just to continue playing, even tough i own the gold edition.
A official solutions besides "restart the game" would be nice...

Same problem here, but i never used family sharing, i just buy the game, played it for 4h quit the game and when i restarted it, have the issue.

i had exact same issue, just had to log out of steam and back in and it fixed it
