Devs. Please, Help... (DLC Lions Crest Save Trouble)

I spent about 20 hours in the game via a copy of the game from Steam Family sharing. The thing is that this copy - has dlc for pre-order - lions crest. Today I bought the max game edition, and realized that I can't play on my version of the game, as it doesn't have the dlc for pre-order...

I found the right lines in the save files that specify the right dlc, but I have no idea how to edit them to make them work after saving. Tried normal notepad and C++ notepad, but nothing works, apparently they are encrypted somehow. The file extension is “.whs” - I don't know what it is and I haven't found a program on the internet to read these files. Tell me, how can I solve this problem without going through the game again?

How can I just delete the dlc from my save file and continue the walkthrough?.....

P.s. The game's official support has responded that the only way to fix this issue is to start the game over again. Don't waste your time looking for other solutions. It is not possible without decrypting the save file.

Same here, I started on a Family Share, loved the game and purchased myself, however, because I do not have the pre-order DLC: The Lion's Crest, I cannot load my savegame, I get this error message: "This savegame requires DLC: The Lion's Crest"

same i bought the gold edition and now i cant play and when i asked for refund steam denied my refund as i have passed the 2hrs i played on my friends family share and i want to go back and play it on the family share instead of paying a bag of cash on the gold edition which i cant play

same here, fixing save file didnt work, game just dont want to load. so I refund the game until they fix it

I'm sorry guys, but I've tried everything. I've dug into literally every file responsible for progress and dlс and nothing works. The only thing I haven't tried, but that in theory can help is Cream Api, but for using this software you can get banned, so I didn't dare to risk it.

Thats some 24 carat BS right there. Imagine buying the top pack for a game and not getting all the DLC. Pre order stuff like this should be stopped, not like pre ordering a digital game means anything, just gives them your money early for no good reason

I am not starting over, i would rather play it from my friends library, I want my money back but steam keeps denying my refund request as i have 11 hrs which is from my friends library and not mine !!! as i cant even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play on my save file!!

Thats something easy to sort by contacting steam and appealing with that reason. Takes time due to automated BS but keep going. They can track how much you have played each day so should be able to see

Fix it? This was preorder quest. it was especially made for those who bought game earlier. There is nothing to fix there

Guys, I found the only solution to the problem. I refunded game on Steam and found a key for the Gold Edition game, which includes a pre-order bonus.
Now the game loads my save normally.

Do this at your own risk, making sure that what you are buying is reliable.

Yep. Buying the game with a pre-order is the only solution. But few people will go for it. And the return is possible only if you have played less than 2 hours, and if that's the case - it's not a problem to go through the game again. Here sit people who spent much more time :)
