It's either a joke for the first few chapters, or a warning shot, to hold back a bit in the following chapters.
I was using and refreshing Hair o' the Dog potion during the whole wedding (to suppress aloholism in general, gallons of booze going around), but I think the Obsession debuff would have disappeared anyway. If Obsession is still in the mechanics, my best guess would be to get rid of it during another secluded main story quest.
Once you have everything prepared it can take about 10-30 minutes depending on how heavily addicted you are.
Yes, Henry is basically gonna be a Inn Goblin who waits in a room for like a week or so before he sneaks out for more food before retreating back in, but it’s either do this or live with varying levels of addiction for the entire rest of your playthrough.
