Alcohol addiction

I wanted to raise my drinking level and what better way than to drink myself to oblivion. So I did just that and got to level 15 (stopped because i didn't have any more money). I knew I was going to get addicted and the only way to get rid of it is quit drinking. I tried to sleep and wait it off for 5 days and the addiction icon hasn't even lowered down. Is this a bug or is there no limit to how messed up I can get this?

Easy Fix is using the cheat mod to enable the commands from KCD1. U can find it here:

Just follow the installation guide, its pretty easy.

Ingame use the command: "cheat_remove_buff xyz" without the quotes.

xyz is the ID and depends on the level of alcoholism u have:

Little FYI for the people who don't want to use commands. Hair o' the dog doesn't get rid of addiction or lowers it

After over 60h with sidequests and side activities, I continued with the main quest Wedding Crashers. After the wedding and For Whom the Bell Tolls (finished in on go to keep the buffs from the potions which I was using during the wedding). I got some good rest to get rid of the last potion effects and the "Obsession" debuff was gone.

It's either a joke for the first few chapters, or a warning shot, to hold back a bit in the following chapters.

I was using and refreshing Hair o' the Dog potion during the whole wedding (to suppress aloholism in general, gallons of booze going around), but I think the Obsession debuff would have disappeared anyway. If Obsession is still in the mechanics, my best guess would be to get rid of it during another secluded main story quest.

Genuinely the solution I would suggest is to go to an inn that you have a permanent room at, find the shop chest so you can steal food from it, and hole up in that room constantly waiting/sleeping for 23/12 hour periods of time until Henry is no longer addicted.

Once you have everything prepared it can take about 10-30 minutes depending on how heavily addicted you are.

Yes, Henry is basically gonna be a Inn Goblin who waits in a room for like a week or so before he sneaks out for more food before retreating back in, but it’s either do this or live with varying levels of addiction for the entire rest of your playthrough.

Took over 36 in-game days for the debuff to wear off me. I could have forgiven maybe two weeks at most for something that I apparently built up invisibly while under a Hair of the Dog effect. The debuff icon only appeared after the Hair of the Dog effect was over, so there was no indication that drinking was increasing my alcoholism level.

Does anyone on here know if you can use master menhard and pay him to wait for the tournament so that time will pass and your addiction goes down?

It totally depends on how much you drink beforehand. The time just isn't capped, and the debuff only starts to show itself going down when you get to the normal amount where the cap should be. I drink from 24 to 30 in one night and it too 3000 in game hours as alcoholic to get rid of it for reference

Saviour Schnapps also causes alcoholism, correct? I can't specifically remember if it does or not. If you save your game too many times with it, you may become an alcoholic.

I don't think this is true. I had Henry's hair of the dog active and was chugging beer and digestive potions all night and still ended up with a month of alcoholism.
