Alchemy is WAY TOO OVERPOWERED
Progression should be just that, progressive.

Instead, they give you the means to literally bankrupt all the traders on the map within an hour of potion crafting and have more money than you can even spend. The most lucrative way to make money SHOULD be bandit hunting, selling armors, crafting weapons, and stealing.

Taking herbs from the Apothecary is not considered stealing and you can just potion craft with their herbs all the way to max alchemy and never struggle with getting groschen because of this fact.

I don't get the reasoning behind this. Alchemy in the first game was rewarding because you had to explore the game to eventually get to it and when you did, it took a long time to get to the point where you can make incredible groschen doing it.

Guess you'd be furious finding out I use WEMOD to level everything up FAST so im a walking death machine and have fun on my terms. UH OH.
Guess blacksmithing is overpowered too? Buy/steal the materials, become a smithing god, sell your axes for 200+ for minimal work effort? Did you know you can become a master smith by just doing horse shoes? O.O.

You seriously sat there and grinded alchemy? To me that's probably one of the more boring things to do with my time in the game. I just make save potions when I need to and that's it.

Maybe just DON'T do what you are describing, and actually DO the things that you say should be lucrative? You are complaining that you found a way to make a ton of money quickly, and you think the game shouldn't allow it? Yet you abuse it?

Sad to say I have to agree, lol.

It's a money-machine, which I of course enjoy abusing, but also see the problem with.
Not everyone enjoys alchemy. I was crafting 13x5 Marigold concoctions yesterday and was literally falling asleep in the end.

Jesus Christ be praised I took a perk that allows for some mistakes.
You can also spend about 2 hours just shooting at targets at the archery range and get level 20+ in Strength, Agility, Main Level, Warfare, and Marksmanship.

Just be glad it doesn't take a thousand years to level up like it did in KCD1.

If you don't like that, just play the way you think is intended and not use the mechanics as they're designed.

It's not exactly pulse pounding but thats what people liked about alchemy in the first game. It was a really slow passive grind with massive economic benefits once you leveled it up. KCD2 just lets you speedrun that ♥♥♥♥ to lvl 20 within an hour or less

Well I mean its the same in elder scrolls games as well. I mean Apothecaries made damn good money in medieval times as everyone needs medicine.

Yes, why wouldn't I when it saves so much time from otherwise smithing items that don't sell for much or hunting bandits and ending up paying all the profits towards repairs from hunting them?

My problem isn't that it makes a ton of money, my problem is that you can literally make enough money to never need money again within the first hour of the game since they start you off at a Apocethary that lets you take all their herbs without it being stealing. The first game forced you to explore in order to get Alchemy to a point where it makes more money than anything else.

You should try Morrowind, it's much more balanced

Then don't do that.

I have not sold a single potion I have brewed to a vendor yet. Mainly that is because I have only brewer the initial quest item in the tutorial and Saviour Schnapps. That is because I don't find the alchemy system enjoyable much at all. I can't stand wasting too much of my playtime doing it.

It's a single player game though, so it does not matter what anybody else does to get money in the game. If alchemy ruins the early game for you then, as I said, don't do it.
Big pharma is lucrative, what can I say.

...you realize you could just hunt bandits, sell armor, craft weapons, and steal, right? What a weird thing to whine about.
Potions go breeeeeeew :D
I mean, you can make money faster by just attacking some well armored bandits and selling their equipment. Alchemy is not really OP, it takes time and is boring. Even then, being an alchemist and herbalist in medieval times was very profitable, Hemorrhoid ointment was always in demand by the peasants and nobles alike.
