Report a translation problem
Pull up the console by pressing tilde "~" in the upper left of the keyboard.
Type "wh_pl_showfirecursor = 1"
1 = on, 0 = off
Remember it doesn't instantly turn the dot on if you already have the bow drawn but rather it keeps the standard dot up when unholstering the bow. And again you have to do this one time when you start the game each session.
It's made a world of difference for me in archery in KCD 1. I was useless without it and with it I was then able to develop my skills (both the character and with me as a player).
Just make sure you have the stats for the weapon and are spending time both raising the marksmen skill and learning how to aim your weapon.
