It's not perfect, but it's definitely more realistic than most games.
There's a conspicousness stat as well that helps you appear "innocent" and get away more easily with thievery and crime in general.
If you don't restore the crime scene to how it was (doors, etc) they will also get suspicious and realize they were robbed and start trying to figure it out.
If you wear it in the town you stole it in, even if the red hand has cleared, if a guard recognizes it you're screwed. Same for trying to sell it to a merchant who could recognize
It. To be safe always sell stolen goods to millers or the fence at the Nomad camp.
Unlike in the first game, NPCs are not idiots in this game. ;)
I put everything stolen on my horse without being seen and went back to my personal chest again without being seen and put it all away, there shouldn't be any way they knew it was me that stole, my stealth and thievery is pretty damn high too.
That's my issue though not a single person saw me, it was midnight everyone was sleeping no one saw me or heard me at all, no one even woke up to search the store after i left, I just woke up and was wanted.
I was just wondering if there's something else going on.
So if you take something, close all the doors after you, leave your goods that you havent sold yet somewhere safe.
Only wear what you loot from enemies.
So far im enjoying this title, i did die to a food poisining, so i gotta find a way to get around that when i load in next time.
It makes no sense except for some expensivel stuff like jewelry, horses, high end equipment or clothes
I understand they wanted to avoid the Skyrim syndrom where you steal everything with no risk, but they've gone too far the other way round imo
Best game ever though I'm not trying to complain
