The issue is whether your experience of the game is tainted, Hans is supposedly your friend, but if you get your reputation high enough, you start getting innuendo responses? How will it not change how you perceive their relationship?
Maybe it's actually so expertly hidden it's not an issue but negative reviews are already mentioning completely normal conversations (let's have a practice swordfight) as a display of their deeper affection, people will now be nervous about every word, not wanting to ruin the bromance from the first game, that they will not get immersed in the second one. It should've never been Hans, Black Bartoush is where they should've stopped.

The codex entry refers to the real historical character a bit like a history lesson, not the one ingame who is much older for obvious reasons.
