Can't reforge Radzig's sword into tier 4
At a certain point in the game, you reclaim your father's sword, and its stats are pretty mid. However, you can reforge it to improve it at a smith shop. I have the Martin's Secret perk, and I've forged other weapons to be tier 4, but I cant get Radzig's reforged sword to be tier 4. Does anyone know if this is a bug or if I'm missing something? If the sword just can't be tier 4, that just seems kinda odd. Especially with how big a deal the sword has been to Henry's character, that you're not able to reforge it into the pinnacle of 15th century swords is pretty anti climactic.

you cant really make many mistakes for it to get tier four, so don't overheat it, also make sure to try and keep a Rythm with the hammer dont overhold it and keep spacing as well , get henry to whistle while doing it helps and go up and down the blade once flip repeat.
It is bugged. After a successful reforge it showed me 199 damage on the result screen, higher than the IV Dueling Longsword. Alas, the reforged sword in my inventory was back to its original stats.

As you can't reforge it over, I loaded my save and will wait until Warhorse fixes the bug and will use the Dueling Longsword (183 damage) that long.

There is a mod on Nexus to circumvent the problem, I think.

you can also start a new game and get to that point while working on the lent achievement as it requires you to abstain from some rather common things for the whole game that's what i did at least

same here. still.
the stats are at tier 4 , the only thing missing is the icon
From what I've read on reddit, you can only reforge it to q4 at the end of the game. Unless there's an achievement for doing so, of which I'm not sure, it's worth reforging it to q3 whenever you can. So that you can actually use it and be powerful.
I just reforged it, while it still being "Razig's Sword" and the stats showed 199 Damage, which is the Tier 4 stats. When i looked back into the inventory it changed to the Tier 3 Stats 172 Damage. So i assume you really cant upgrade it until you make it "Henry's Sword'

Just wait until its yours again. And make sure you sharpen it.

What exactly do you mean? Waiting until the end of the game?

Yeah, [spoilers]once you beat the game it becomes Henry's sword and you can forge it as tier 4.[/spoilers] Until then it seems that reforging Radzig sword caps you out at tier 3 (which I guess makes sense, since forging something to tier 4 makes it "Henry's" and it'd make no sense to have Henry's Radzig's Sword Reforged).

I've heard this may be a bug. It is actually tier 4 but just doesn't show the stats until you equip it. Try comparing stats after equipping and sharpening.
It's bugged, I've seen people who have successfully gotten it to tier 4 but nobody seems to have a consensus on how it's achieved. From what I've seen it has something to do with a story moment and specific choices made during the flash backs to Henry's past if you haven't yet reforged it before then, I can't confirm this as I haven't achieved it myself.

I noticed the same thing, I tried several times but could never get it to tier 4, even though I was able to do so for several other swords.

I have T4 radzigs sword. It rly isnt that great tbf due to far better other options (unless u want longsword ofc)

IMO dont bother with reforging or crafting any rare weapon like ataman or adorned or radzig's until u are +21/22 lvl craft and have some stamina.

Everything else is stupid simple
Heat to almost white
Bash rhytmically so Henry whistles

You should be able to make pretty much EVERY recipe in one go without reheating.

Blacksmithing is all about crafting level + stamina + Rhythm and accuracy.

Most recipes you can double-hit same spot except for some swords like Radzig, that saves u moving the hammer around.

I usually go in a straight line bit by bit, then back and forth, until i slapped each area 3-4 times, then i flip and finish up.

You can only forge brand new weapons to T4 after you've got the perk.
Special Quest weapons and "legendaries" stay at their tier.
Which makes sense: Radzigs weapon has already been made by a master swordsmith and branded with his sign (M for Martin), same will likely apply to any other weapon that has a name.
Reforging it makes it still the same weapon and would be forgery if Henry would put "his" mark onto it
Which is fine, except the crafting plan for RSR gives it a strenght of 190- but the Tier 3 version is only 172. Which implies Tier 4/190 ought to be possible.

And, yes, I forge other weapons to 4 no problem.
