Can't reforge Radzig's sword into tier 4

At a certain point in the game, you reclaim your father's sword, and its stats are pretty mid. However, you can reforge it to improve it at a smith shop. I have the Martin's Secret perk, and I've forged other weapons to be tier 4, but I cant get Radzig's reforged sword to be tier 4. Does anyone know if this is a bug or if I'm missing something? If the sword just can't be tier 4, that just seems kinda odd. Especially with how big a deal the sword has been to Henry's character, that you're not able to reforge it into the pinnacle of 15th century swords is pretty anti climactic.

oh yeah having your tier 3 reforged radzig sword turned into a tier 2 henry sword was annoying as hell idk why they decided to do that

You can only forge brand new weapons to T4 after you've got the perk.
Special Quest weapons and "legendaries" stay at their tier.
Which makes sense: Radzigs weapon has already been made by a master swordsmith and branded with his sign (M for Martin), same will likely apply to any other weapon that has a name.
Reforging it makes it still the same weapon and would be forgery if Henry would put "his" mark onto it

dont know about this one. Ive got the Adorned Axe in t4 quality

I reforged it, checking its statistics, and Oh Boy!
Yes, it remained quality 3.
But its statistics got way way higher.
This is the sword I use now.

I reforged it.... forgot to save. got into an ambush as soon as i left town... Died... Loaded back up into last save at the devils inn... Where I reforged it before... I literally had saved forged and left before... Now I cant reforge it. Literally 3 hits and it fails. I was at 25 on my first attempt and it succeeded then i maxed out the skill and pop potions for crafting.

Have not been able to succeed once. And I have made tier 4 swords... This is what is going to make me rage quit this because there is no reason. I put it into the fire and before it even gets to the yellow hot henry is saying he is burning it which means i just lowered quality... put it on the anvil 1st hit start whistling 2nd hit he says i am cocking it up 3rd hit get a notification it failed..... HUH!!!!????

I got it!!!!! Wear the Blacksmith apron, doesnt tell you in game but it will raise your craftsman stat by 2 I think... I have a plus 1 there all the time and i cant figure out from what

Next craft or buy in Kuttenberg and use the strong quickfinger potion to raise craftsman by 6

Get drunk with the Heavy Duty Perk, any where between +1 to +4 depending on how drunk and drinking level (only in the positive state after that you will lose on the stat)

The craftsman bar will not go higher than 30 but it still counts the bonuses which should be up in the 40's by this point... Good luck!!!!

What do you mean you got it ? You have Kobyla's Sword Tier 4 ? Because everyone so far confirmed that Tier 3 is the max but it has the stat of a Tier 4 Sword and that later in the Story you can reforged it again, this time to Tier 4

I got it meaning after 2 days of attempts and frustration I crafted it by stacking craftsman bonus gear, potions, and alchohol lol.

It is still tier 3.... I will also say that my first attempt had higher stats but i never looked to see if it was tier 4. First sword was 192 stab damage the current one (second attempt and saved this time) is 172. I never thought about screenshotting the first one so my memory might be off. but full stats are

Min Strength 15
Min agility 18
Stab Damage 172
Slash Damage 163
Blunt Damage 33
Defence 299
Blood 11%
Durability 240
Quality III
Condition 100% (Razors Edge Perk)
Weight 0
Price 3352.6 (Not sure why that's included Cant sell it any where)

I guess i wasnt clear initially... My complaint was that I could not reforge it at all after i did it and forgot to save the first time then spent 2 days failing every single time there after. the I GOT IT!!!! was simply replying to myself saying I FORGED IT!!!!!

I was also stating that stats were different of this I am sure of and share what mine were in the hopes that others could have some thing to compare to.

It did seem glitched out so I dropped the steel and bought a new batch at a blacksmith on top of stacking all the potions and craftsman bonuses and BOOM it finally worked again.

I still don't really understand, you are saying you weren't able to reforge at all before, as in not even tier 3s? And so when you finally reforged it you still got a tier 3, not a tier 4?

I believe quest items can't be forged to tier 4. I couldn't get the guild sword to tier 4 either.

I'm thinking this is accurate as I created a save pre a quest item and reattempted multiple times never got better than gold. I did have all needed perks for master quality...
