But this seems to happen a lot in this game in general.
I understand you're supposed to roleplay as someone who fits in to their place and is already familiar with the customs and rules of their society, but you keep losing reputation all the time for having completely normal conversations and asking completely normal questions for seemingly completely cryptic reasons.
Oh yeah, that's fine of course. But I've had it happen during completely normal conversations where the character I'm talking to isn't having any sort of reaction at all as well.
A lot of dialogue options don't seem to match up with or convey the intent they are meant to have.
Edit: Various guides state that you should take him to the bailiff to increase reputation, so it does indeed appear to be a bug.
Yeah, that checks out. That's really sad because my inner Monk wants to do it the right way but I really love the game otherwise and want to continue playing.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm doing the "right thing" by turning into a murderer to a literal bailiff and the bailiff is getting pissed at me for it? I guess I should just kill the murderer or let him walk? Makes a whole lot of sense.
And it's funny that I got +rep after letting a murderer escape. Interesting village.
