Rescue the Dry Devil - what the hell is this?
So am I getting this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right?
At the end of the first "map" I'm getting streamlined into a very long "story" segment at the end of which Henry gets tortured. After that, with a huge debuff and no access to horse I'm to pick up all my ♥♥♥♥ and go on a stealth mission in the woods? I had to drop 2/3 of my armor set just to be able to move, but I thought okay, I guess thats devs plan here, I did feel very OP by the time I reached the wedding quest.
BUT THEN I'm getting streamlined AGAIN into story quest of Act 2 which leads me fair and square into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight with 10+ HEAVILY armed soldiers while having only a couple of guys on my side. (and no proper ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ armor bc I had to drop it earlier)

So my question is, what's the idea here? Do the devs want me to dreadnought/cheese my way through this enormous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of an ass whooping or am I to leave a quest NPC in a middle of a sentence and go exploring Kuttengerg?

Okay, I think I've found the ONLY quest stage where you can go your own way without receiving a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Game Over.
Its called "Go to the Devild Den with Zizka".
Looks like thats when he's on foot near the tavern and walking towards it, you actually can just fast travel away and go your own merry way.
Absolutely atrocious game design

Very disappointing game so far, and from what I've seen there is no reason to play this over the first one.

I'm not as pessimistic overall, but yeah I guess they've bitten more than they could chew, should've made a smaller game. This can be fixed in a long run if they're going to commit to it.
What can't be fixed is self-indulgent wall-of-text writing style, I now view their boasting about 2 gorillion pages of script in a completely different way.
This one is tough if you didn't train fighting in the first map.
Also your "friends" have leather armor and fight against armored dudes, it will take a while but they will die.

So , 1 shot the plated dude with your pistol, that was on the horse, walk past him behind that cart and help your allies in the woods.
Gang up on ppl , 1vs1 take too long, help kill ppl with their back to you.
Also if you have use a mace , or a longsword and stabby stab .

Once you free up a few allies they will gang up on others and stagger then kill em.
Don't get bogged down killing the shielded duders , try to leave them for last when they get swarmed and easily downed.

Reload a few times till you get your timing right.
If you start a duel with the plate dude all your allies will die and then you are left with fighting against 10 ppl ..not possible.

Once a few allies free up from their 1vs1 you help kill, they will gank up on the rest and easily kill em.

This. I was attempting it for an hour reloaded a previous save just before the fight (auto save) and didnt try to speech check. Did it first time

It’s better than the first in every way, the first was a broken mess when it came out but i would probably wait a few months or until a sale if you haven’t picked it up yet as it does have minor bugs. The quest in question seems to be a gotcha if you fail speech checks it was not difficult if you don’t attempt them which is an odd choice for the devs to make…

Confirmed, Go with the non-skill-check option. You'll have alot more allies and the battle will be a cake. Literally struggled for an hour in an impossible fight until I read this.

thanks for this, I almost dropped the game.
Feel kinda stupid now, of course failing a speech check should provide worse results than not trying it at all. Makes sense.
For me are all the Quest since Trotzky castle are pretty bad gameplaywise. I hope they get better lol.

i find it nonsense until i read about you can choose non skilled option. it was game breaker for me
This was a HARD one. I failed the skill check earlier and stubbornly went through the fight regardless. Absolutely hate that useless pistol thingy, so after failing with it ten times in a row I just went with a sword. What worker for me was to just poison the blade and move in a way they wouldn't flank me. Pick them one at a time.
I was able to complete it, albeit with quite a few tries. Idk, people are used to being spoiled, I like that this game is hard.
This is a garbage mission that was not tested properly. Lazy, sloppy, garbage.

I actually feel that the game is really easy and I should've probably waited for HC release to get a better experience.. But it is uneven in it's difficulty with some random spikes here and there, which catch me absolutely unprepared every damn time
