Fifth commandment bugs

Is anyone else being stuck behind a door after a cutscene on the fifth commandment? I can't progress the quest or even the game

I think I found a way around it! So after you get to the part where you can't get past the door, reload the save where you just found the item in the chest and have to go tell Katherine & the other guy (I can't remember the name) about what you found. After you start the dialogue with them, skip through everything.

When it shows the cutscene where Katherine is in the street causing a scene, skip the entire scene (skip all). When I did this, it put me right back into the room but this time, the guy you are supposed to fight is in there. After you get rid of him, the door is able to open!

I hope this works for you, I was pleasantly surprised when I found this workaround.

SPOILERS!!!!!

I got the same issue. I just spawn in the room after the cutscene and there is nobody there. The room is locked. I reloaded the save a few times, same result. Then I exit the game, started it again, same result. Quest is broken for me, it seems.

I also tried sleeping and starting the conversations with Lumir during the day AND night. Did not make a difference as well.

EDIT:
I know what I did wrong. I killed servant Thadius (or something, the guy that stands at the door during the day) and stole his key to the house to get the quest item at night. Now, after the big reveal, the servant is exposed as the killer, which is the guy I should be fighting at that moment. But he was dead in a ditch somewhere.. So I reloaded to the point I did NOT kill the servant yet, got the quest item the proper way and redid the cutscene. Then, the servant spawned in properly and I completed the quest.

I found another workaround, at least it worked for me. I reloaded, skipped all the cutscenes, but when trapped in the room again I used the "I surrender" battle cry and the servant came busting back through the door which let me attack him.

When you're stuck into the room, if you have the option to talk, use the surrender cry and the guard will bust the door open

late to this party, but it just happened to me. locked in. no one there. i just swung my sword around like an idiot for a while, and he came charging in.

thank you! this worked for me! just make a ruckus. seems he often spawns outside the room, untlil they fix it you need to get his attention.

Walk into the right side of the door and swing your blade around. He came charging in from downstairs soon after.

Another tip: Fight him with your fists. He'll yield and you can arrest him. If you also arrest Malinda, Lumir reports that the servant spilled the beans at the baillif which resulted in Malinda doing the same, leaving no room for doubt about Malinda's involvement (in the eyes of the law).

this how i solve the problem. before the starting the dialogue go to the tavern and open the door and drop something close to the door,
Go back to the dude and start the dialogue
---------
Oke the dude just disappeared into thin air cant find the murder
---------
Update: Yea i cannot continue,
there's no fix - tried everything - before the mission started i went to the tavern opened the door went back started the mission, door was open i went and search for the dude he's nowhere. The icon showing he's on the street Infront of a store he isn't there.
