Alchemy is horrible!
I love everything about the game, but alchemy is the worst mechanic ever. It would be cool to do it once when you get a new recipe and then if you succeed once, you should be able to just auto brew that potion. I for myself gave alchemy up and will just buy and steal the damn potions.

I love the alchemy system. Very well done and super immersive though I do agree with the points Aleter made in regards to what could be improved.

Alchemy is probably the best feature in the game. Go play COD.

Oh come on.

Personally I love This series but avoid alchemy like the plague because of how dull I find it. Since it seems about the same in the sequel I will keep avoiding it the best I can. If you enjoy it I’m glad you like it.

By the way COD is awful, I can’t believe with how many great military shooters that actually have depth some players only play that series.

There are some improvements that they could make, like put the book closer, leave ingredients on the shelf after you finish one potion, make the actions a bit faster and let us transition from one action to the other smoothly (like at 90% of animation we should be able to choose & transition into a different action).
But otherwise I like this system a lot!

I kinda love the Alchemy. What I would have preferred is to select how many potions you want to make and then brew it once. The system will pick all the required quantity of ingredients for you.

Basically, keep the process for 1 potion making but increase the number depending on how many was selected to craft. Automatically deduce the herbs quantity.

I love alchemy, it feels so good when you make a concoction knowing you fully earned it.

Best alchemy in any game ever!
Alchemy is great, especially for money early. The instruction for some potion I found a bit confusing (i.e buckblood and hair o dog idk how to get perfect for it).
1 thing to note don't use too much dried herbs, they seem to lower your quality..
I guess they remove the autobrew for more immersion purposes but hey we got secrets of matter perk can get u up to 6 potion per brewing process. And once u get the perk for henry quality potion damn... Marigold heals for 75 health almost invincible in a fight..

The perk line that increases vitality per active potion effect is also great for stamina in combat. Makes me feel like a witcher^^

Ah to add to this, I would have loved to see the liquid changing colors depending on what you have added because right now it just doesn't feel realistic that you add a handful of spices and herbs with distinguished color but the color of the water for example doesn't change let's say to Marigold orange color especially when brewing. Same goes for mint, if you brew water with mint you get a mint tea and it's color is green. I do want to see such small graphical improvement.

C'mon guys, people may like it or not. No need to attack them.
The good thing is if you don't like something, there are various ways to play the game. As it was said above - if you don't like crafting, just bash some skulls, sell the loot and buy all you need.
I like the minigames, they help with immersion, but can't figure out the rhythm in the blacksmithing :steamfacepalm:

alchemy xp is insanely fast compared to kcd1.
one crafts ~4-6 potions with 1 go.
i had ~18-21 alchemy before going to bohemia, daughter + hans breakfast during the tutorial.

that said, if you dont like it, dont do it.

personally i VERY much prefer this multi-craft with high xp compared to KCD1s grinding mindlessly to the point of auto-craft and them spam button for 10 minutes to be fully done with all alchemy for the rest of the game.

Yeah.. henry quality buckblood is insane... I finally got it how to make it perfect. Stamina+ stamina regen for 1 fricking hour long dude, 3-4 pot is enough for 1 day gameplay for me.
Yeap, the exp is easy, my alchemy level is at 30 already and i only got through the semine's wedding.. maybe I'm just a freak in alchemy and blacksmithing since I got their lvl almost maxed at beginning...

I like it. Every now and then when I want to relax a bit & sort out my inventory and just be mellow for a while I'll use the herbs I've dried to make some potions at Bozhena's & appreciate the wooded area. It's a really pretty part of the map.
The only worst mechanic i found in the game was the carrying sacks/bodies/drunken huntsman.. that's the one really wasting time.. get dark arts apprentice and try experimenting a bit at midnight.
U will find interesting way to make potions faster with the highest quality.

Alchemy is the best feature? Go play alchemist simulator. I thought this was an action RPG not a spend 10 minutes of real time to brew 2 save potions. “If you spend 3 hours leveling brewing you can get 5 potions at once!” Say you have no life without saying it
