So, I purchased all the alchemy recipes off the nomad herbalist and NOT ONE shows up in my book after 'learning' them. They are no longer in inventory because they supposedly have been 'learnt' and they do not show in the book at the alchemy bench - FFS!!!

I fell through the map getting off my horse at the blacksmith tutorial area, the door to the room where Henry can sleep, he went to hell instead of heaven this time

That sucks but you don't have to buy the recipe. So can just find on the Internet how to brew one, do it, and then it will also get added to your necronomicon recipe book.

At least as a workaround. It still needs to be patched of course.
