Why the added diversity improved the game.
I was initially a little worried, since I'll admit that the DEI grift influenced me. The story of added diversity forced into the game due to immense funds from investors was believable, as we've actually seen this happen to multiple huge franchises, which greatly suffered for it.
However, in the case of KCD2, I now firmly believe it was a decision made by the creators to make the game more interesting.
For those who've actually played the game, you'd have noticed how incredible it is at portraying the different cultures, as it often highlights the huge differences between what Henry's used to. Every conversation with a foreign person is often a highlight, because Henry is fascinated by their ways, and is eager to learn why they are the way they are.
If the game was filled with nothing but natives, while historically more accurate, I think it would've made the game much more dull.
/Warhorse didn't make this decision because of forced DEI, if they did, the inclusion of these added cultures would've been poorly implemented.

I believe it was the creators to make the game more interesting as well. There was no forced DEI, the story is just good. You have a good eye because this is very very true. Similar to Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut honestly. I want KCD3 to be Kingdom Come: Crusader.

yes, I do really want ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bossing me around in their filthy camps
amen to that! but as a proud ally of the trans community myself I must admit though that I am severely disappointed by the lack of inclusivity in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. A black scholar and a gay romance are simply not enough in 2025. We also need more representation of the trans community. I suggested to add a eunuch from the Byzantine court as a main character in one of the next DLCs in order to be more inclusive of the trans community but they deleted my thread. I didn't expect this behaviour here...

European cultures are already very diverse and could have used to the same effect and we know that it is not dull coming from the first game.

Eunuchs aren't trans... but you know that - you just want to rage bait some jester awards.

Indeed, people who are currently complaining about it haven't played the game, and they're convinced by the anti-DEI youtuber grift machine.
KCD2 reminds me of films/shows from the 80s/90s, where you had lots of diversity, but you were never lectured or belittled.
KCD2 essentially shows how important it is not to add diversity for the sake of it. It's a gigantic 'f you' to all the other dev studios that tremendously failed at this.
Does anyone just play the game without even thinking about or noticing any of this stuff?

If it wasn't for the insane anti-DEI grift spam against this game, I wouldn't have noticed, as the added diversity wouldn't stand out to me.

They're trolling.
/none of the trolls/anti-dei people have actually played this game.
People will notice sooner or later. You can feign ignorance all you want.

It isn't there
It is there but there's so little it doesn't matter
It does matter but it doesn't affect me
It is a good thing actually<--you are here

The great noticing will continue
A black guy in early 15th century Bohemia is absurd and historically impossible, no matter how you try to spin it. If the game is not historically accurate, you bring shame upon yourself and your entire family by purchasing it and playing it.

you like crusader kings right? crusader kings 3 has an entire DLC about the Byzantine Empire and you should know that eunuchs had a fundamental role in the Byzantine court. You should also know that the Ottoman Empire learned to use them from the Byzantines.
