Why CryEngine not UE5 ?
Why not using UE5 instead these game most game are moving toward UE5 now? the first game using the CryEngine and it is very glitch when its come to movement and climbing on top of the rock etc.

because the first game ran on the same engine? it doesn't make sense to change engines between games if everybody already knows the old engine.....
So they could just port most of the systems of the first and add on it instead of making everything from scratch
cryengine better anyways :)

You want an answer? Take a look at Stalker 2 which runs on UE5 and then you will have your answer :-)

Because people know how to work with this engine and the optimization of the game is great. Why take another engine when this one works well?
As others have said because they have used it for their first game and thus have experience with it and because UE falls apart the moment there are more than 10 npcs on the screen.
It runs much better than 99% of UE5 games.

UE5 is bloody terrible..

They have worked with Cryengine for years all their assets and code was made to work with it.. CryEngine still looks amazing and performs better than UE5.. I don't see why they would even consider swapping.

Cryengine is garbage. There are issués that has existed sinds Crysis times, and are still in it today.

True
UE5 has been struggling with open world games
This game runs on i7-10700k and rtx 3090Ti at max settings at 150fps. UE5 would give me maybe 40-50. Praise they didn't use that garbage.

It's fairly simple. Performance.
UE5 is by far the most overrated engine for games.
They are marketing themselves for graphics and innovation.
But there is a lot of bloat coming with UE.
UE will have very mixed results on different PC builds.

CryEngine can run 4K natively with good performance.
UE needs upscaling to get to 4K. I highly doubt the recent games we seen develop on UE5 use 5.5

UE also lacks being able to used modern data oriented design system for efficient asset offloading.
CryEngine has several methods to optimize asset loading and the optimization tools on CryEngine beat UE without a doubt.

It is even optimized for larger games and is proven so.
One can argue people can do a lot with UE, but once you go into the details it really is just overrated.

Because if this game was on UE5 it would run like ♥♥♥♥
Engines don't solve anything. Development does.

WH knows CryEngine. UE might as well be on a different planet with the differences between them.

One of UE's great points is that it lets developers do whatever they want, but it's also one of UE's major flaws by not stopping developers from doing things wrong, either. Migrating to UE from anything other than Unity is a major hazard since it won't stop developers from trying to use it like another engine. Migrating to UE should be given a lot of serious thought into the problems that will be introduced. It's better to just let a whole new team handle it than try to bring others over to UE. Continuing with CryEngine is the better choice.
UE5 is a ♥♥♥♥ pile. I am glad they didn't use it.
