Polearms underwhelming?
Love polearms but in this game it seems to be punishing, durability is the worst, cant strike from above and even with the pole axe cant seem to do enough damage to armoured enemies

Every weapon type has their ups and downs. Polearms for example are objectively the best on horseback. They also create the absolute best spacing between enemies, preventing them from really getting a chance to actually swing at you. Otherwise, they arent the best when it comes to straight damage.

Swords are absolute trash on armored targets and serve little use unless you have the training that lets you attack unarmored parts of enemies. They however, excell at unarmored ones and are the absolute best on bandits. IMO the best are heavy/blunt weapons but you cant do as many combos as them so they tend to have slower times to kill, however they will always work against an armored target.

Yeah polearms seem severely underwhelming... there isn't even the lucerne hammer from the first game! That was the best damage in terms of bludgeoning. Polearms in the first game did significantly better damage! And mods let you use them as a full weapon with perks.

Here they do ♥♥♥♥ damage... I mean Idk a poleaxe I feel like could do more hacking damage than a sword... being greater leverage just thinking physics-wise... I mean after all medieval knights and soldiers used polearms as a primary weapon more often than not for a reason... since we can't quite incorporate the additional reach part shouldn't we at least have better damage???

Longsword can do better damage, have more combo, have masterstrike options have more areas of attack...

I mean the point of polearms is only for horseback combat? Every combat (the rest of the game) it is worthless? That's an ass game feature... a MOD could do better... if the game had no polearms in it... it'd be essentially the same game... we'd barely notice lol
