Godwin is a mistake.

I want nothing to do with this character, and making me play him instead of Henry is the biggest buzzkill after such a big battle. I'm already bored, and it's been 5 seconds of playing Godwin.

Godwin is basically a noble son turned ptsd veteran that lost faith in most things after what he has seen and learned throughout his life, including the church as an institution while still believing deeply in god.
He's probably my favorite character of both games!

Yes he's a good character, but that doesn't have anything to do with what I'm said. He can be a part of the game without forcing the player to play him ruining their immersion.

after that battle, all the way down, and the heroic stance after that when defending your liege... that was awesome...
striking the enemy and defeating him was awesome
being betrayed again - was a gut punch, but nice...

but thenm, you had to play him.

i paused then, took a shower, went to bed and continued next day.
then it was ok to play him, and you only play him for about 20 minutes.
you ave 2 fights with him, which pick up the pace again, and it is crucial to the understanding of the next part of the game....

you get to play henry in no time, and defend the next castle, in quite a big siege. it was awesome!

I actually liked the Godwin quests. They’re not very long, and it leans into the Christian core of the story.

Divine providence dictated that in the moment of your need, an imperfect priest picks up the sword again and shows up just in time to save you from a pickle.

I just wish they hadn’t changed the voice actor.

Godwin is literally the coolest character from the first game, christ.. i wish i could play as him all the time!
The worst part about him is how they changed his voice actor for the sequel but thats it..
Bad take, you should refund and never buy any of Warhorse's games again since they are CLEARLY not for you.

Personally I didn't mind Goodwin, gopher as much. By then I was already somewhat distanced from the story by all the glitches and soft locks. So i was just clicking random responses. But as someone who HATES character switches in novels I would probably have hated that section if I was invested.

I 100% agree. I hate it when games make my play other characters. Good news though. You can just speed run what ever you got to do and get out of that section pretty fast.

Just skip all dialog and do the objectives in the journal that are required. Do not speak to anyone you do not have to speak to.

I would have been fine with it if it was the same Godwin we knew and loved but they changed his character like crazy in this game. No more fun drunken adventures Godwin now he is all super serious and a complete bore.

i enjoyed the no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ approach to godwin way to interact with ppl.

also the way godwin speaks italian is very funny.
we need more hand gestures.

I have a hard time fathoming the type of tiny individual that feels they need to whine on an internet forum because a game makes the excellent artistic decision to tell the story of what otherwise would have been a deus machina time jump from the perspective of another quality character.

But as OP said. He's allowed to be objectively wrong.
