Master strikes?
How do you execute unarmed master strikes? I've seen enemies do them but I seem to find it impossible to do them, same with riposte master strikes both sword and unarmed.

Enemies regularly, and now later in the game, almost always master strike my riposte. I however don't understand how to do the same. I know that tomcat spoke of riposte master strikes briefly but he never made me practice them so I've got no clue.

I've tried changing the angle after an enemy perfect block to the opposite of their riposte but it doesn't matter at all.

Is anyone able to perform these types of master strikes? If so please tell me how.

This is a mod that datamined two perks for unarmed [www.nexusmods.com] that allow Henry to do Unarmed Master Strikes and "disarming strikes", they never made it into the game's release for some reason though.

I haven't got to that stage yet, but I hear there's no blocking involved. When the enemy attacks, you simply attack from the opposite direction with perfect timing
I'm not sure if it opens up later, but when I learned master strike from the romani guy he said you can only do them with swords
Yeah the guy told me that swords were the only weapon capable of master strikes, yet in a fistfight my attacks get master striked by the enemy.

You're correct. I'm able to do master strikes with swords no problem, that's not what I'm asking. I'm having trouble with master striking enemy ripostes after they perfect block me.
Did you figure this out?
Want to know as well.

I've tried and I don't think you have enough time to master strike a riposte since the enemy riposte comes out faster than Henry can switch directions. MAYBE it's possible to master strike a riposte at higher Defence levels, where the timing window for a Master Strike is more lenient.

Don't get me wrong but I don't believe you when you say that enemies can master strike ripostes later in the game. I'll reach late game and see for myself, then I'll figure out what's happening.

I haven't seen or heard of any master strikes with fists. Is there a fistfight trainer who teaches you that? Otherwise it sounds like you're confused.

You cannot master strike with anything else than a sword.

I found out about the fist master strikes when I found a heavily armored bandit on a road selling me a treasure map. I decided to try and fight him unarmed but to my surprise the bandit was honorable and also engaged in fisticuffs.

I then found out why as he turned out to be reborn muhammed ali, master striking my left and right swings somehow. I had to beat him with kicks since he couldn't master strike those.

Enemies can 100% master strike my ripostes and I don't believe this is a bug or anything as Tomcat says as much at the end of the master strike training, I just seem unable to execute them.

Sadly no.

I've been unable to find guides, videos or anyone even talking about this.

Just to back up what OP said, I have started to see what appear to be unarmed master strikes. I stumbled upon a camp while fast travelling and challenged me to an unarmed fight and the guy would sometimes interrupt my punch to punch me in return. It's not a clinch and I couldn't react to it at all.
I personally have issues with supposedly countering a riposte with a master strike, the tutor told me that after an enemy perfect blocks you you should be able to perform a master strike since your weapons should be opposite of each other, but that doesn't seem to be the case? I thought that if you get into a series of perfect block - ripostes Henry would be able to master strike the incoming riposte like the tutor said, but I've never once managed to pull that off...

I can only reliably perform them by waiting for the enemy to make a move first, which is exactly like the first game and that quickly got extremely tedious.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I'm left wondering if it's user fault on my part or if it's just bugged, since enemies can master strike my ripostes.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of master strikes being limited to swords, but what are you gonna do...
