Master hunting bow weaker than regular bows

Loving the game so far. Wondering if anyone has noticed this and might know why. I currently have a number of hunting bows. all are level 2. All perfect condition. The master hunting bow claims to be the best in the description yet some of the other bows have higher power. I've noticed the master bow does add 1 extra speed. Am I missing something? There's a dogwood hunting bow in tier 2 that has 160 power yet the master only has 100

It seems like the descriptions don't really match up with the listed stats. I was just looking to see about the discrepancy with the dogwood hunting bow description, myself. It says it's the weakest, but it has a higher listed power than the elm and ash.

Check its stats again, if you don't have a certain strength and agility level you can't handle more powerful weapons, they'll performe worse

If you have insufficient stats for a longbow, you can't even draw and hold. That's not the issue here. What OP and I are referring to is the description of the weapon claiming it's good or bad, but the power stat reflecting the opposite. My example, the dogwood hunting bow, is described as the weakest, but has a power stat of 160, which is the highest I've found so far.

yeah it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and weird. THere should be a reload stats at minimum...

i mean if it would reload faster i would be ok with less power... it's just a poorly done and explained system.

It is the best at what it does. It's probably the fastest bow in the game, pretty accurate, and a very good choice for shooting competitions or hunting small game. It's not an instrument of war. For shooting people, you want a strong longbow and the best available arrows. If they're armored, consider poisoned arrows.

I was also scratching my head about this as the Dogwood bow is cheaper, but much more powerful.

I assumed the Master Hunting bow may have a quicker reload/shooting time, but haven't tested. I feel like some in game stats are missing, all we have to go off is the power stat.

Only noticed something similar with one of my saddles.

Maybe it's more versatile?
I mean - a horse saddle can add like 200 pounds of carry weight but then sucks in speed, and vice versa.
I'm way faster with some cheapo saddle for instance.

Maybe same applies to bows - difference in speed and what not, how long it takes to draw, knock an arrow in and the like.

Best bow is in one of the main quest finds, 200lb.

Bow is only a half of the equation. Use black arrows. 180 dmg. You will get 380 damage bow.

Dude you have some 32lb limit on shooting ranges :D
Otherwise it'd knock the targets right out of the stable hah

So excuse me if I double-check your 200lb bow hah - you'd shoot through a horse, knight, and armour - maybe even a battleship - dunno what their resistance is ;)

As I corrected myself, 200 is damage not draw. But you can check Mary Rose bows, 185lb at 30" draw.

I recall watching a vid, some pro brit was pulling 160lb and said anything above he will injure himself.

I asked myself this question and I didn't quite understand why the bow with 160 is weaker. It is true that it is more difficult to manage.

Another question was about the equipment of the horse that I did not understand

And the other the storage of items without having the trunk nearby. I tried storing it in a cleaned camp chest and it worked, but it only took a few days

Another question is because in some places it takes longer for prison for crimes to disappear and in others it does not.

It's best to use the storage chests next to your bed at for example the blacksmith/miller or at inns.

This could be due to your reputation level in different regions, but that's just a guess as I haven't run into that problem myself.
