I have a 28 crafting skill.
I made zero mistakes (no comments on cooled off, burning, or messing it up.
I heated it hot, did 6 power strikes hilt to tip, flipped it, repeat, flipped, heated again.
During the second time through above it completed. So like 30 power strikes.
Any other weapon I craft in a similar fashion always comes out masterwork.
Some previous attempts with 1-2 mistakes made a III quality.
The pre-order pole axe if you make more than 3-4 mistakes it fails.
So I am beginning to think because it is a quest item it only has one set of stats.
Use the same "methods" you do to create mastercrafted weapons and they end up making mistake son the reforges if you do not fail completely.
The Wikis and such show mastercrafted screenshots so the items do exist. Whether they were consoled in or something.
I suspect they changed something in blacksmithing and it did not affect reforged weapons, so reforged were kinda screwed. I highly suspect it has something to do with crafting level, as in it does not matter for reforged. Judging form the posts and such I researched eveyrone is complaining they can make mastercrafted with mistakes for normal weapons, but one mistake on a reforge and it drops quality too fast because four mistakes becomes failed.
BTW, the sword counts as a short sword despite having the model of a common longsword, so if you were planning to use it, there is a sketch hidden in a cave in the first map that allows to make the Basilard is probably the best one handed sword availlable until the Kuttenberg map. So, there is a better option availlable.
