Blacksmithing Hammer Invisible Bug

Just as the title says; why is the hammer invisible at the blacksmith? I can't do anything at the blacksmith because unfortunately my hammer is invisible. It's hard to aim when you have no visual representation.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm able to see the blacksmith hammer but the materials are invisible so I can't see the temperature or progress of the forging.

The real issue is that making a perfect sword is harder in this game than it is irl. Controlling the cadence and position perfectly is arduous.

Metal is a forgiving material, so you should be able to fold over a botched job and try again without losing pommels.

I looked up some people talking about it on Reddit and it seems we all made the grave mistake of picking up the hammer sitting by the anvil before starting the blacksmith task. One guy said he dropped the hammer by where the blacksmith npc would pick it up and that worked for him. Another downloaded a mod of nexus mods called “ Rebalanced Blacksmithing and Sharpening (PTF)” I haven’t tried either I’m going to bed. Will update tomorrow if I try and either works for me.
